Friday, April 28, 2006. I can't believe how close it all is to coming to an end. In less than 3 weeks I've got my first exam. Actually, in less than 3 weeks I've got all my exams, because they're on the 16th, 17th and 18th of May. Cheers exam coordinators! So, one last relaxing weekend without any work to do, and then the exam revision starts! Posted by Laura @ 1:07 pm. I finished uni as of this week. It's scary. Satisfying in some respects, but now it's just me against the big bad world. Don't forget yo...

Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Ah yes, that update. A bit late, but here it is . Since we spoke (the time before) last, April 28th I believe, I have done lots and lots of revision, and sat 3 very stressful exams, but I have also managed to fit in a few other things as well. In bullet point form:. Hard to reach. I may have had a little bit of help from Simon, my co-coordinator. I went home the weekend after my dissertation was handed in and stayed at Ruthin Castle. I have been to Rock of Ages. On Saturday I watch...

the gallivanting monkey: freeze frame
http://gallivantingmonkey.blogspot.com/2015/06/freeze-frame.html
Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Wednesday, June 03, 2015. Mildly complicated and gently momentous news! This is my last post in this space, here on Blogger. But The Gallivanting Monkey. Is now alive and well elsewhere in its new home on my proper new website. And there's a new post. Bad Feng Shui. This space no longer feels right to me. I had a great writing mentor, Jack, who always says, "Don...

Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. I've changed everyone's names up there except Linnae Dengah because I can't make up a name as good as that. I tried. So, if you're googling yourself, Linnae: surprise. Popularity was gold, it was security, it was everything good. Why had it decided to visit itself upon me? And how could I make it stay? All these unconscious things work ...

Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Every morning when I drive Finn and Fred to their school, there’s a turn we take down into the valley that houses it where we get a great view of the Cascade Mountains. (The mountains aren’t there every morning. Sometimes clouds hide them. Or maybe they. The place starting giving themselves up soon enough. Was so clean, and this felt.

Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Wednesday, December 03, 2014. While it can signify a few different things in a reading, the Six of Cups often references friendship. Sometimes it heralds the return of an old friend, sometimes it points to a feeling of loss. It’s tricky, like I say, this card. It’s soft on the outside, but it has something piercing at its core. She’s not the mother-in-law ...

Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Wednesday, April 09, 2014. What was the worth of comforting somebody you hadn't hurt properly yourself? I tried writing this post a couple of days ago and failed. I'd get a few words out, freeze, get some more words out, freeze again longer. I gave up and lay down on my bed, shaking, defeated. I didn't think I'd be able to do it. I thought I'd ha...Two things ma...

Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Tuesday, September 16, 2014. The great chocolate robbery. I've had no time to think, though, and I don't know where I'm taking you today. This is pure, old-school winging it happening here. What I'm wanting to talk about, what I'd been planning on talking about in a the-thing-I'm-talking-about way, I guess, is the body. Well, not the. That's got something to it.

Why must you always be gallivanting? You are such a monkey. I'm going to wrap you up in cotton wool and make you live in a shoebox." -My mother. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. On black lives mattering. I have two white sons, ages 8 and 5, that I love with. When my kids are sick, too, they’re up against a neutral force; they’re up against their own malfunctioning bodies. And there are benevolent forces in place to protect my kids. They have doctors, they have hospitals, they have medici...The level of fear...
