Not like the van halen song, which apparently is about a car, not the country. Thursday, August 21, 2008. Ildaura made her first pollera at age 15. Here she is showing me a photo of it. The family was also nice enough to let me try on a pollera and take a photo. It was so HEAVY! And I wasn't even wearing any of the 3 petticoats that normally accompany it. I'm also missing the elaborate headdress (tambleques) and the gobs of gold jewelry that are usually worn. You look fabulous, Erin. Miriam makes me laugh.

So at the first hint of a blue sky I took off for Casco Viejo, the old section of Panama City, to take some photos. There are also these really cool remnants of old churches all around. Inside those City Limits. Life as an extended vacation. Thursday, December 1, 2011. I recently turned 25. I was a little sad about it. Sad, sad, day. So yes, my best years are probably behind me. But at least they were something to be proud of. Here is a list of the best things I've done in the last 25 years and all the best people I did them with. Graduated from Brigham Young University. Bet on a horse at the races. And won (with Kelly and Jeff). Taught High School in Washington D.C. Read East of Eden.

Here are some reasons I like them. Bonnie makes me little snack packs so I don't get too hungry while in class. Jeff will go to McDonalds. To get hot fudge sundays. Extra fudge no nuts) at any time during the day or late hours of the night. Bonnie taught me to never leave the house without doing my hair. I love them lots.
