My first ever millinery course assignment was to make a sewn hat. We spent the first few weeks of the course learning couture millinery techniques and the basics of hat construction. I really wanted to take a feminine hat shape the pillbox and mix it with menswear suit fabric. I thrifted the perfect Italian wool suit jacket on a $2 clearance rack. This suit was a 54 short, and much to my delight, the dry-cleaning tag noted that it belonged to a Mr. Larry Stout. Poetic. March 18, 2018.

Melanie Goes Abroad | Aspiring fashion & entertainment publicist | Living in France | I'm occasionally entertaining
Aspiring fashion and entertainment publicist Living in France I'm occasionally entertaining. Paris vs. United States. Wifi that actually works. Wifi is so much faster in the United States. I love it and I miss it. Wifi here sucks, or at least mine does. But I will miss how the French pronounce wifi- wee-fee. I am going to apologize in advance because that is how I will be pronouncing it from now on. And most importantly, I will miss French McDonald’s and their deluxe potatoes. That is all. So many people...

To Finnish my degree...
To Finnish my degree. Saturday, April 12, 2014. Farewell to Finland, Hello USA. Well, I've been back in the US for about 5 days now. It's taken a few days for me to adjust and to get back into the normal routine again. Let's be honest though, throwing off those scarves, gloves, hats, and coats was the easy part! Sidenote: Reunion with my best friend happened today! I really don't have enough words to say how much I missed this girl! This was pretty much the view the entire time :). I was excited to see a...
