The Boren Bunch: July 2011
http://not2boren.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 17, 2011. Everyday life has been ruined. We spent the last two weeks in Idaho with David's family. We had so much fun that it's hard to come home and return to the routine. This is Shoshone Falls, near the town of Twin Falls. Speaking of beautiful gardens, here's part of Grandma Boren's (and Aunt Mel's) garden. It was beautiful there! David and I took a day trip and biked down the Hiawatha Trail (on the Idaho-Montana border, near Missoula). It is an old mountain railway that has been con...

Sunday, August 7, 2011. We've had lots of fun cousin time this summer. Christian turned two last month! We had a big Pioneer Day get-together with my parents and siblings. Here are the results of the cake decorating contest. Four cakes for the four July birthdays. We won "The Most Frosting" prize. David put a rope swing in our big willow tree. So fun! Nathan started community soccer. It's so cute. The entire team follows the ball around in a big bunch. Practicing shots at the goal. The Good Wife Life.

The Boren Bunch: August 2013
http://not2boren.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 22, 2013. Has it been 10 years already? We recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. If you have a few minutes, feel free to scroll down through some highlights and defining moments of the past decade. We met on January 11, 2003, on a blind date arranged by our roommates. By the end of our 2. Date, I knew I was going to marry him. He didn’t know it quite so soon! A few weeks later, David left for China, where he did his student teaching. We emailed every day for 3 months. It was ...

The Boren Bunch: May 2013

Saturday, May 11, 2013. Paint, carpet, and color! We've been sprucing up our house lately. Nothing too drastic, but enough to freshen things up. Our living room walls had really deep (and sloppy) texturing that swallowed up the light. And was difficult to clean. We sanded it down and repainted the main living areas. We got new carpet! At least in the main areas and master bedroom). The previous carpet was much too light for this family. It was in really bad shape -. The kids enjoy playing with the William.

Sunday, February 12, 2012. Boy crazy and Dad crazy! It's been quite a while since I updated this blog. My computer got eaten by a virus a couple months ago, so I have to snatch moments on David's laptop when (a) he is home, (b) he is not using his laptop, and (c) I have free time. Hence, it's been quite a while since I updated the blog. I'll begin by explaining the title of this post:. That's right. It's a boy! Now for the Dad Crazy part:. Every morning the kids try to prevent David from leaving for work.

Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Ten years ago this month, my roommate tricked me into going on a blind date with her boyfriend's roommate. I'm so glad she did! We've gotten more snow than we did last year, but not enough to satisfy David. Until yesterday, each storm this winter had skipped over us and dumped snow on neighboring towns. For someone who regularly checks the weather in Siberia, this has been quite upsetting. Here's one way we deal with the lack of snow in our yard:. Head for the hills!

Sunday, November 25, 2012. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Field Trip. Handsome William on a little day hike to Battle Creek Falls in Pleasant Grove. He does very well in the baby backpack. Halloween is always a fun party. Here's the breakdown of the costumes: William (bear cub), Christian (cowboy), Clara (mermaid fairy princess - she came up with that by herself), Nathan (pirate), Sherrie (bridesmaid from 1973; her mom made that dress to be bridesmaid in a friend's wedding in 1973), David (who knows? It wa...

Saturday, October 13, 2012. Fall in Full Swing. Sherrie and the kids went up to This is the Place Park in Salt Lake with Sherrie's mom. One of the highlights was riding ponies. I think Clara would have taken off to the hills if the horses hadn't been tied up. Our four little chillins. William is a good sport. Here are some of the amazing fall colors surrounding Mt. Timpanogos. Friday, October 5, 2012. 30 days hath September. A victim of Nathan's sand escapades. Our 2nd Grader and Kindergartner. Here's ou...

The Boren Bunch: April 2012

Thursday, April 19, 2012. David and I spent 10 days in China this month. We really appreciate my parents and David's sister, Jessica, who took care of the kids while we were there. We went to visit David's parents, who are teaching English at Tianjin University. One of our bags didn't arrive at the Beijing airport, so we got to go shopping for church clothes in a gigantic marketplace in Tianjin. David's parents live in an apartment at Tianjin University. These are all doctoral students. Afterwards, for s...
