Shwiya b shwiya: June 2010
http://shwiya-b-shwiya.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Shwiya b shwyia" is Darija (Moroccan Arabic) for “little by little.” It’s how things get done in Morocco … and it's how I'm progressing as a Peace Corps volunteer here, working in youth development. Saturday, June 26, 2010. At the summit. 'Twas my hippie-chick idea to summit the morning of the solstice. Sunrise at the refuge. The trek up Toubkal starts with a scramble via large rocks over a rushing waterfall. As we neared the summit, Eric's pants buzzed: We have cell reception! A guide at the top. Of the...

A Work In Progress. Wednesday, June 2, 2010. I'm not judging the merits of this process. Just saying that it is very, very different than what most of us are used to, or had planned. Thinking about this makes me want to eat a big stack of pancakes. I'm not entirely sure why. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Some Other Stuff of Mine. A Year in Pictures. A Work In Progress....: Death and this maiden
http://workinprogresschicago.blogspot.com/2013/06/death-and-this-maiden.html
A Work In Progress. Monday, June 17, 2013. Death and this maiden. I lost a favorite patient of mine last week. His name was Dave, and he was a tall, lanky, goofy dog with black fur and a long nose. I joked of FB that he looked like my cat would have looked like if he was a dog, or funnily like a guy I dated way back when, also named Dave. And only when we say goodbye do we really know what something, or someone, really meant to us. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Death and this maiden.

A Work In Progress. Monday, March 28, 2011. I'm baaaack (but quietly-shhh! So I'm making my way back into the blog-o-sphere. It's been awhile. I started blogging initially to try and present myself in a more open and cohesive fashion, and it was a great way to exercise some writing muscles while keeping the near-and-dear a little nearer. I loved it. I found it freeing. I found it relaxing. I found it taxing, and scary, and strenuous, and sweet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Im baaaack (but quietly-shhh!

A Work In Progress. Monday, May 27, 2013. Smooshed phone and the value of our lives. Lesson learned. (That, and the ever-important lesson of insurance for your phone). Sunday, May 19, 2013. 5 things for which I'm grateful today:. 2 My sense of humor. It's a good one, and hey, I have one and I'm always sad at so many who don't. How the hell do you get through the day without laughing? How do you get through life without sinking slowly into despair and staying there if you cannot find the funny? Life turns...

A Work In Progress. Thursday, March 11, 2010. Back to the juggling. Of jobs, that is. See prior posts' hintings at tequila misadventures). Anyway, I was chatting it up with my old manager, going over old times (isn't it interesting how the distance of time can make even the mundane seem nostalgic? A Work In Progress. Sunday, May 1, 2011. I know, I know. I say I'm coming back and I disappear. Sorry, loyal readers. There has been a lot going on. There has been illness; nothing life-threatening, just a bad flu bug that felled me for nearly 10 days. Nothing like Mom Nature reminding you that your body is not always ruled by your will. I don't recall the last time I even had the flu. College, maybe? It's coming, it's coming. Really, folks, how lucky am I? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I know, I know.
