Friday, October 21, 2011. I know that many of you have been praying for my treatment this week. I had acupuncture again before treatment started (the third time I have tried this) and spent most of the morning and afternoon receiving various drips into my two ports. I spent a couple of those hours napping. I left the office feeling quite bloated, but other than that I was doing well. Bill and I even took a walk later in the evening! Thursday morning I felt a little more fatigued, flu-like, and tired.

Tuesday, February 28, 2012. This last cycle came with a few more side effects which are tolerable but annoying. My eyes tear up and water all the time now (dryness causes this) - I carry a Kleenex in my hand most of the day to wipe my eyes. I'm sure some people have looked at me and wondered what I am crying about! Some of my fingernails are also separating from the nail bed - one looks like it had a door closed on it. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. A day in the Chemo Room. I have a "port" that is like a permanent IV that was surgically put in near my right collar bone. It is like having a permanent central line. After receiving acupuncture I have my port "accessed.". I then begin to receive my ‘pre-meds’ which include drugs to prevent allergic reactions, nausea, etc…. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Fifth cycle, Fatigue, and Festivities. Yesterday I finished the last treatment of my fifth cycle. Fifteen treatments finished and nine more to go! This month has flown by. December is always a full month for our family - it is a busy season for Bill at work, Craig and I celebrate our birthdays one day apart, the boys have final exams at school, and of course Christmas!
