Seeker, maker, lover of life. 43 things I’ve learned →. Index Card a Day. June 8, 2013. I generally suck at all those yummy “Make X Every Day” challenges. I love the idea and I love to look at the results, but I have a limited amount of creative time and energy each day and the commitment to make something extra every day just doesn’t work well for me. So what the heck am I doing making index card art every day? Here’s a link to all the details about the current index card a day challenge:. Your cards tu...

Thursday, July 29, 2010. Today is my birthday. Now normally I wouldn't make that the title of a blog post, but I just had to share this poem from friend Sue V. in Illinois wrote me, thank you Sue! I think it's fabo in your words! Happy birthday our Julie H! Happy birthday to the gal who always has a smile. A cheerful note, a caring tone. She makes the day worthwhile. Here's wishing you the best of days. From morning thru the night. A stack of fabric, spools of thread. May this day be warm and sunny.

Monday, December 29, 2014. Quiltville Mystery and Design Wall Monday. My design wall is pretty blah. I still have the wool quilt on there. So much for my goal of finishing it by the end of the year! I am all caught up on the Quiltville mystery! This is a quilt top I made at a retreat in November. I used a jelly roll pack and finally got borders added. I used a pattern in the book Jelly Roll Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott. I am linking up to Quiltville Mystery Monday. Monday, December 01, 2014. I don't h...

Idaho Quilter's Adventures: January 2014

Wednesday, January 08, 2014. On August 11, 2013 I went through my two cupboards of unquilted tops and took photos and measured all of them. There was a whopping 53 tops, from mini to king! About half had backings with them. I started in machine quilting some of the smaller one and was surprised when I counted them this week and found out how many I have completed since then. I have finished 16 of them! Throw size using Quick Curve ruler. Full size Crazy Stars. Foundation paper pieced flowers. I skipped a...

Idaho Quilter's Adventures: August 2014
http://spudquiltingadventure.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2014. Today I did the dreaded house cleaning and got a queen size quilt pin basted and started quilting. It's going well. I wound 10 bobbins to start with, it will be interesting to see how many I actually use! Today's UFO is one I keep forgetting about. It's a Block of the Month kit I inherited from my friend Vicki several years ago. I forgot that I even had gotten three rows done! Friday, August 29, 2014. Thursday, August 28, 2014. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. This was from a birthd...

Design Wall Monday - Prism blocks. After I finished the Indian Blanket quilt top I put my Prism. Blocks up. This kind of scrappy project needs the design wall so I can balance out color. The paper pieced blocks don't stick at all to the design wall until I've pulled off the paper.ugh, I really dislike that part. They are coming together nicely. I'm not really in a hurry with this so I expect it'll be up for a month or so. :). My helper when I was putting binding on a quilt (a very old ufo! I love the lis...

Downton Abbey Mystery weeks 2 and 3. I've been forgetting to post pics of my blocks from the Downton Abbey mystery quilt along! So far I am keeping up. :). I've been having to take pics inside and that is making for less than perfect colors. But you'll get the idea. Here are the four blocks from week two. They are all 12 inches. For week 3 we had to make eight blocks. I only took a pic of one. You can see how bad the color is by the difference in the pink in the two pics. Same fabric. Women of the bible.

Monday, September 29, 2014. I have been busy canning and juicing grapes. Takes a lot of time away from quilting on my days off work but it's worth it throughout the year! I have lots of canned tomatoes now, I made a lot of salsa last year and have plenty left. I did finish the borders on my Crown of Thorns, I need to get that photo taken, but I don't have the space at the moment. The same two projects are on my design wall and I have an extra table set up for basting. Monday, September 22, 2014. I bought...
