Hieronymus Bear: July 2011
http://hi-bear.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Phew The full weight of summer is resting its humid elbows directly on my city, making it hard to work on anything (all I want to do is lie in front of my fan and/or curl up inside my refrigerator), so I don't have a ton of work to update with at the moment. Instead, I'll post a trio of strange birds I painted a few months ago AND show off my now-set-up studio workspace! 1: BIRDS. WITH ANTLERS. Another sort of Tragopan (can't remember the exact kind). Bulletin board detail - finis...
Hieronymus Bear: September 2011
http://hi-bear.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Just a quick update before I get back to my heaping piles of homework (school is kicking my butt in the best way possible). Finally got around to scanning in the work I did while I was up at the cottage and thought I'd better toss at least one piece up on this here blog while I had a moment. The following is the first anatomical animal (of about seven) I've completed:. Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Hey guys, where the hell did the rest of August go? I suppose spending the la...

Hieronymus Bear: Even More Progress!
http://hi-bear.blogspot.com/2011/12/even-more-progress.html
Monday, December 5, 2011. Now that school is pretty much over, I'm working on spending as much time as possible working on The Show. I made some major progress on the weekend, getting a new large piece started and continuing the process of giving R.W. Brackley, my main character, a proper face. The first piece on which I worked is the second in the anatomy series - this one's a great auk, and his main washes are almost done! And of course, Brackley, now more than just a series of pencil lines! Blogroll -...
Hieronymus Bear: Deep Sigh of Relief
http://hi-bear.blogspot.com/2012/02/deep-sigh-of-relief.html
Sunday, February 5, 2012. Deep Sigh of Relief. On February 3rd, 2012, A Collected Collection opened at Freedom Clothing Collective (939 Bloor St West - show's up until March 26th! You haven't missed it! Lit by the blinking lights of paper jellyfish and filled with wonderful friends and family, the gallery was a perfect home for the discoveries of my beloved R.W. Brackley. Before all the festivities of opening night, though, there was hard work to be done. AMAZING). That element? LED Jellyfish, hooray!

Hieronymus Bear: Own-Art Progress
http://hi-bear.blogspot.com/2011/11/own-art-progress.html
Saturday, November 12, 2011. I have finally made some time in which to work on my own art (seeing as I have that show coming up in, oh, 2.5 months). This time is found between the hours of 10 pm and 1 am Good thing my brain is productive at night. As per usual, here are some crappy photobooth shots of one finished piece and one in-progress one. On the bright side, I found my camera. Now I just need to find some batteries. First off, I finished the whales! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bears and wha...
Hieronymus Bear: A Collected Collection - The Details
http://hi-bear.blogspot.com/2012/01/collected-collection-details.html
Wednesday, January 11, 2012. A Collected Collection - The Details. In a mighty feat of strength and mental fortitude, I have spent most of the day in front of the computer, designing various items to do with the show. One's pretty crucial - the invitation! Apart from getting the invite off to the printer, I also worked for many hours on the book portion of this project. Presented below (with little comment as it is nearing 3am) is a sample spread for my little tome (is that too much of an oxymoron? A Col...

Oh, the places you'll go...
Friday, January 5, 2018. Day 4 and 5} Life happens outside. When I asked Joel what some of his first impressions of Niamey were, he said, "so dusty and so much of life happens out of doors, on the side of the road." So true! Others are cooking, or selling the meat to cook. So much of life happens outside, on the side of the street. Oh, and don't forget your manicure or pedicure! Instead of driving to Wichita to get it done, you can just wait by your gate until someone with a mani/pedi station walks by!

Ok Etsy. I'm back! Ok, I admit it . I've been bad. I haven't posted anything on my blog for a couple of months . and I closed my Etsy shop for the summer . But I have a good excuse . it was the summer (ok, ok bad excuse, but I did go through a bad separation this summer, does that count! Plus, I think the branding looks AWESOME!
