Ramblings of The Diva: Death By Chocolate
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2012/01/death-by-chocolate.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Saturday, January 28, 2012. This is a perennial favorite of everybody’s no matter where I take it. I stole the recipe from my Great Aunt Dimple at a family reunion a million years ago and have made it so many times since then that if somebody punched me awake from a dead sleep and said, “DEATH BY CHOCOLATE! 8221;, I could probably recite the ingredients and instructions without too much hesitation. The recipe in its entirety is at the bottom for printing. Now comes the therapy....

Ramblings of The Diva: Shedding Layers
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2014/08/shedding-layers.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Friday, August 15, 2014. It’s not just a hair style. It’s not styling cream and hair spray and product to make it stand up to look fashionable. Let’s call this what it is. This is a symbol of freedom. Of seeing how far I can push myself. Question myself. Make YOU question me. Of seeing where my comfort zone ends. Seeing what all I can do, what I’m capable of. Seeing how long I can stay in the place of change. And your eyes, Cindy. Your eyes. My eyes. August 15, 2014 at 7:53 PM.

Ramblings of The Diva: God is not a homophobe and neither am I
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2012/05/god-is-not-homophobe-and-neither-am-i.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Thursday, May 17, 2012. God is not a homophobe and neither am I. This blog is in response to Andy Gipson’s disturbingly ignorant, hateful and bigoted Facebook post yesterday you can read about here: Read his remarks here. Whether you want to read it or not, this stands on it’s on as these are my beliefs about homosexuals and marriage equality. If you like the photo above, it’s a wallpaper: Git it. Side note: The fact that James, Peter, John or Jude never mentions anything about hom...

Ramblings of The Diva: November 2014
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Tuesday, November 11, 2014. My Lizzie 1997 - 2014. She always sat on her left hip and cocked the right one out or let the right leg hang off of whatever she was sitting on. Something didn’t heal perfectly with the hip but she didn’t limp and was still lightning fast. She caught a hummingbird one day. I still haven’t figured out how she accomplished that but she did. Ramblings of The Diva: May 2015
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Saturday, May 9, 2015. May 9th One Year Out. I had a car wreck a year ago today that has proved to be life changing. It resulted in a surgery and a year of concussion/TBI symptoms (so far). When I remembered it, I was upset that I had just put new tires on that car. It took me a couple of weeks to remember that. Snort. The next week was interesting. And honestly, it’s a blur of emotions and pain. I let go of a 7 year relationship 8 days after the wreck. I discovered coloring again.

Ramblings of The Diva: March 2014
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Monday, March 10, 2014. The Day I Lost It. Kenny and I dated about a month and in that month I was verbally abused, pinched, slapped on the ass, cheated on, my breast was grabbed in public to humiliate me, and ultimately was knocked almost unconscious. Why did I put up with it for a month? My vision went blurry and I staggered, grabbing the lockers behind me for support to keep from falling. The hallway was swimming around me, my stomach was treatening to revolt, and all I cou...

Ramblings of The Diva: Thursday Evening
http://purvisramblings.blogspot.com/2015/01/thursday-evening.html
Ramblings of The Diva. Sunday, January 11, 2015. On Thursday evening, I stepped off the parking lot elevator and spent 40 minutes in upright meditation on concrete while this happened in front of me. There are no filters or photoshop on these photos. You get them as you do me, flaws and all. Come on and leave me a comment. I love comments. In fact, leave me two. Ramblings of The Diva. Sunday, June 29, 2014. Big shoes to fill. Many of you who are friends of mine on social media have heard me brag about the superwoman that was my Mawmaw so you get to hear it again if you’re reading this. This is my Mawmaw in 1946 with my Diddy in her arms:. As I said, she was abreast of the goings and comings of the neighborhood. While she would be resting was when I usually happened upon her unannounced. You never had to call before dropping by Mawmaw’s house. I...I am named afte...

Ramblings of The Diva. Friday, January 20, 2012. Lamar County Courthouse Part I. I am so excited. Back a few years ago, I discovered that Hattiesburg had a Wikipedia page which just blew my mind. For some reason, I thought only large cities had them but then I got to thinking…if Hattiesburg has a page, Purvis might have one. We did but honey, it was pitiful! Http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purvis, MS. That’s when I got really interested in our old buildings. ASBESTOS, that’s what! According to the articles,...
