It wouldn't be summer if you didn't start it off right, now would it? This year we spent a few days camping at Carlsbad before school let out. The weather of course was beautiful and we enjoyed the time with my extended family, who was also there camping. We wish we could have spent more time there, but realized by the third day that camping with children is better kept short- so we counted ourselves lucky we didn't stay the whole week. Summer. Part II. Summer really has been good to us this year. While we spent more than half our summer at the pool- we tried to make lots of time for some other things as well. Summer 2014 Part I. Drive-in movies to see 'Maleficent'. Ben was not too happy about having his photo taken-obviously. This little girl loves horses (even though this one is a pony). Six years and counting. Six years can seem like a lifetime and other times it can seem like it was just a blink of an eye. Through various hills and valleys we've encountered these past six years, looking back seems like so long ago. I say this because six years ago today we were given Ben's official diagnosis of Autism. When life gets hard and a few more curve balls came, what was I going to do? Justify my actions because I thought it was unfair? And what can I do? Why not live a life free from sickness?
