Random Musings: SWEET MEADOW FARM
http://cherylbdale.blogspot.com/2015/04/sweet-meadow-farm.html
Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Monday, April 13, 2015. Last week was busy. Relatives came to visit Monday and stayed till Friday. Then we had to travel up to North Georgia for another relative's wedding Saturday which meant a six hour drive. Here's a view of the farmhouse up above as we headed toward the pond. Coming back over the bridge and up to the stable, this is the side we saw in the photo above. And here is the other side, where tables were set up and a danc...

Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Most of the local crime column has been the same old stuff. Man hits man, woman hits man, man hits woman, woman hits woman. But there were a few that caught my eye. In another a woman reported a friend of her boyfriend was at her house taking a shower, and she did not want him there. He was arrested for trespassing. Teach him to go where he's not wanted! Then there was the woman reporting another woman thr...

Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Monday, October 27, 2014. LAST OF THE STEWBILEE. And these are the last few pix from the Brunswick Stewbilee we enjoyed a week ago! We got there early so most of these were taken before the crowds came in. This one shows the end of the booths set up. The others turn back around to the left but you can't see them here. The river is behind, as you can see from the ship masts in the background. Another band: Pier Pressure. The highlight,...

http://cherylbdale.blogspot.com/2015/04/walk.html
Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Saturday, April 18, 2015. Finally resting up after our travels to the wedding last week, we've begun taking walks again. Here are a few pix from them. This one is down in the village, looking out on a surly sea. You can see a couple of small boats if you look carefully. We have some pretty scenery and cute wildlife around us. Cheryl B. Dale. April 18, 2015 at 3:23 PM. The ducks look well rested. Cheryl B. Dale. Cheryl B. Dale. Subscri...

Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. NEW USE FOR CAT POOP. A blog about forensics led me to this interesting article. Http:/ www.scienceworldreport.com/articles/16065/20140716/parasite-discovered-cat-poop-combat-cancer.htm. What is says basically is that there's a parasite in cats' intestines that stimulates the body response in a person similar to the one that fights cancer! Cheryl B. Dale. Links to this post. Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Today we were walking in the Village, trying to make up for all that turkey and fixings we indulged in over Thanksgiving (and by the way, I hope everyone had as lovely a Thanksgiving as we did) when we came upon a man feeding the birds. Personally, I wouldn't want to be sitting in the midst of them since they can start flying around overhead at any given time! Cheryl B. Dale. Links to this post. This lady ha...

http://cherylbdale.blogspot.com/2015/05/birds-on-lamppost.html
Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Monday, May 18, 2015. BIRDS ON A LAMPPOST. On our walk the other day, my guy pointed out what we think is an osprey nest. It's on one of those high ballfield posts. He took a couple of pix today. These are the babies. Looks like they're about ready to fly! And this is the mother with a baby beside her that you can barely see. The light pole itself is very tall, one of those that towers over the ball field. Cheryl B. Dale. Speak of the...

Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Saturday, April 25, 2015. Horrifying news: my favorite department store is putting itself up for sale. Belk, with nearly three hundred stores across the south, has been my favorite place to shop since childhood. Started in 1888, Belk is a southern institution. And why not? And Belk is always having sales! Sometimes as much as eighty percent off. If you don't need towels or shorts or pajamas a toaster or an emerald ring right away,...

Random Musings: CRIME BLOTTER
http://cherylbdale.blogspot.com/2015/04/crime-blotter.html
Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Saturday, April 4, 2015. Oh, our local paper does have such interesting tidbits! In the last few weeks:. A car veered off the road and hit a sewer lift station, causing about five thousand dollars worth of damage. It left the scene but officers tracked it down. The owner said he'd loaned it to a woman. Hmm, likely story. Wonder if there was a problem with back-up in people's houses afterward? Just the usual interesting crime items....

Thoughts, opinions, an occasional book mention, and anecdotes of life. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. We've been lazy over the holidays, not doing too much. We have been on some walks though. This morning, we saw these ducks in the neighborhood pond. One white one and three wild ones. Oops, four. I didn't see the little one till the group realized he was missing and headed back to pick him up! And these blackbirds were down by the pier. Perched on the wires, they almost looked like a tree! Besides the Uni...
