Shauna's World: July 2014
http://shaunas-world.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Things I Participate In. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. July Finishes for A Lovey Year of Finishes. I can officially say that July sucked. I knew there would be a lot happening, and that with the heat I wouldn't want to do much, but I didn't anticipate how bad it would really be. I did get some things done, but not nearly what I wanted or needed to get done. My first goal was to quilt my Watkins Star. Then I did a test quilt call Diana. I did make some process on my Texas Road Trip quilt, I'm about 85% done w...

The Cozy Quilter: Sewing with Hank and Frank
http://thecozyquilter.blogspot.com/2015/08/sewing-with-hank-and-frank.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Sewing with Hank and Frank. Hank has been visiting our house for the last 10 days with his friend, Skye. Skye likes to chew on Hank and make him squeak, which is especially popular before 6am. This week, Skye shook Hank so hard that two of his squeakers came out and his head and body just about parted ways. It was time to perform surgery to put Hank back together again. In the meantime, while not throwing a ball, or walking the dog, I have done a little stitching on Frank:.

The Cozy Quilter: January 2015

Saturday, January 31, 2015. Embroidery and Hand Quilting. This week, I added the last of the embroidery stitches to my wool applique project from a workshop a year ago. Those are French knots in the bottom circle and the top green part. I dug through my batik stash and found some fabric with green leaves on an orange background that was just calling out to be a border around this project! The colour in the first picture is truer to how it really looks. Happy Slow Stitching Sunday! Links to this post.

The Cozy Quilter: Slow Stitching with Frank
http://thecozyquilter.blogspot.com/2015/07/slow-stitching-with-frank.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. Slow Stitching with Frank. I showed my next hand stitching project- a cross stitch picture based on the Tree of Life stained glass window by Frank Lloyd Wright. . Confession: I did not get much slow stitching done this past week. I organized my thread and then spent a few days looking for my embroidery hoop so I could do some stitching.I finally found the hoop today and started stitching! He is always up for a game of ball. Labels: counted cross stitch. July 26, 2015 at 6:25 AM.

The Cozy Quilter: February 2015
http://thecozyquilter.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Wool Applique Project done! Tonight was the February meeting of the Elgin Piecemakers Quilt Guild. I worked hard all week to finish my wool applique project so that I could bring it to the meeting for show and tell. Ta Da! Here it is. I tried to position the light so the texture of my hand quilting would show up in this picture. Quilting with black thread on black material is hard, but not impossible as long as I have good lighting and my reading glasses on. Links to this post.

http://munchkinquilts.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 21, 2014. Welcome to the For Pinks Sakes Blog Hop! This blog hop is being done by many quilters across the country. Each person is making at least one block for a charity quilt that will be donated to the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids, MI, where Anna Gering's Mother-in-Law, Tina, has been getting her cancer treatment. (Fun fact, I'll be going out to Grand Rapids in August with my rowing team for USRowing Master's Nationals). Anna @ Life Sew Crafty. Kathy @ Kwilty Pleasures.

The Cozy Quilter: May 2015
http://thecozyquilter.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Elgin Piecemakers' Charity Quilts. The Elgin Piecemakers met this past Thursday evening. In January, we had each been given a bag of fabrics to use to make a charity quilt top. This one was made by Pat. It has been quilted and just needs to have the binding done. She used a disappearing nine patch pattern. Heather fussy cut the centres of these blocks and added some brightly coloured borders on each block. We always seem to end up with blocks that look good together! And the green w...

The Cozy Quilter: June 2015
http://thecozyquilter.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. I am slowly working away on my quilt vortex project. Sewing, trimming, more sewing, more trimming. After trimming, I sort the pieces into piles of approximately the same size and shape and then I start sewing them together. It is fun to revisit scraps from projects of the past. The fabric with the hexagons is a scrap leftover from my daughter's university quilt. Quilt I am hoping for a good sized lap quilt at the end of this process. Links to this post.
