martinmakes: Cacti & Succulents
http://martinmakes.blogspot.com/2015/04/cacti-succulents.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. My next quest was to make my own cacti soil based on a formulas I found online. I ended up creating my own mix, which is still in testing. I may post the formula later if it works! So far, it seems to sit well with my cacti and succulents. Granted it took several casualties to get to this point. But, I've never seen them this happy! I think Oscar and Olivia love each other.lol. Here's a group shot of them. The funny thing is, I still have 2x more succulents that still need to ...

martinmakes: Yellow is for Slow Down and Smell the Flowers
http://martinmakes.blogspot.com/2014/05/yellow-is-for-slow-down-and-smell.html
Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Yellow is for Slow Down and Smell the Flowers. It's a tiny little thing with precious small lovelies that sit comfortably in an empty IZZE Sparkling Clementine bottle. Lately I've been really into keeping drink bottles for the intended purpose of being flower vases. Gotta say it was a good call! The yellow (bitterweed) is so vibrant and cheery! Side-note: I'm a huge fan of wildflowers and native plants! I also had some time to work on a new drawing today. I've had this vision.

Saturday, April 12, 2014. Working with a Wacom. Here's another sneak peak of a digital piece I'm working on. I had so much fun with this. One I had to get started on another! Subscribe to: Post Comments ( Atom ). I'm a young graphic designer and artist hoping to primarily share some of my creative projects as well as any random and/or insightful topics that find their way into my life. I hope that I can offer a tad bit of inspiration, knowledge, or at the very least some amusement. Enjoy!

martinmakes: Pottery Playday
http://martinmakes.blogspot.com/2014/05/ceramic-day.html
Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Last semester re-ignited my love of ceramics and the making of them. Amist all the chaos of moving and prepping for summer classes, yesterday I was able to sneak into the clay studio and continue on some pieces I've been working on. I love using an old ketchup bottle to make dots, scales, and spikes ( you know those red ones usually paired with the yellow mustard bottles). I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner! martinmakes: Prophet
http://martinmakes.blogspot.com/2014/03/prophet_31.html
Monday, March 31, 2014. Sothis happened a few days ago. I consider it a mash-up of The Raven. By Poe and Shakespeare's witches from Macbeth. For some reason my brain felt they made besties. For my first time digitally painting in Photoshop, I think I'm quite happy with it. Definitely need to get a tablet soon! The whole finger on the trackpad method was a bit of a pain. Overall though, twas funzies. Will do again. Subscribe to: Post Comments ( Atom ). View my complete profile. People made of awesome.

martinmakes: Blanket Monsters and Milkshakes!
http://martinmakes.blogspot.com/2014/09/blanket-monsters-and-milkshakes.html
Saturday, September 27, 2014. Blanket Monsters and Milkshakes! I've been really preoccupied these days, so the blog kind of fell into the abyss for a bit. Aside from teaching, part-timing in retail, and trying to initiate freelancing, I'm also prepping to apply for a Master's program. I'm uber excited about that! I've taken a couple years to just work, explore, and learn more about me (yeah it's a bit cliche but eh.). I've come to the conclusion that I really do. That's all for now. I'm a young graphic d...
