The Dublin Symphony Orchestra : History
http://dublinsymphony.org/index.cfm/event/pages.history
The orchestra originated in the early 1960s when a group of musical enthusiasts in Ceoltoiri Craobh an Cheitinigh got together to perform classical music. The DSO has played extensively in Dublin and in many venues throughout the country, often in conjunction with local music festivals. During a sixteen year collaboration, which ended only recently, the orchestra blossomed under the guidance of Fergus O'Carroll as Musical Director.
