Emily Run’s the London Marathon. Emily who is part of the senior women’s squad ran in the London marathon on Sunday 26th April. She took part to raise money for the Alzheimer’s society, a charity that means so much to Emily and her family after her Dad sadly passed away last year after suffering with Alzheimer’s. Guildford rowing club could not be more proud of Emily who finished the marathon is a time of 4 hours and 26 minutes and with a smile on her face. GRC Junior Bronze at EIRC.

Why not take up rowing? Rowing is a great all-year-round sport, which you can take up at almost any time of life. You don’t need to be super fit to begin rowing,. Junior Squad - Guildford Rowing Club

The club usually runs a junior beginners class each September on Saturday afternoons for approximately six weeks. Those beginners then move to the junior training schedule, with progressively more training opportunities as the athletes gain experience and move from one age group to the next. Adaptive rowing allows people with disabilities the opportunity to take part in rowing. At the Paralympics there are 3 classifications of disability. AS, arms and shoulders. TA, trunk and arms. LTA, legs trunks and arms. Rowing became a Paralympic sport for the first time at Beijing. Two medallists in the GB team trained at Guildford before joining the GB squad.
