My Life: all I've ever known. I remember Ellen being the force behind some of the best birthday parties. Gracie’s birthday party where we all played in a kiddie pool in the front yard was mostly imagined and done by Ellen. One of my birthdays, that had themed and matching decorations of tulips, was done largely by Ellen. My Life: all I've ever known. Posted by Lauren S. In my memories, I can rarely place exactly where Mom was. In spite of being a stay at home mom, she was never around. When I try to place her, there are a few things that come to mind. She was often in her room, on the phone, crying for hours. We were not allowed to interrupt her when she was in her room on the phone. I also remember her being out of the house a lot with one or more of us with her, running errands. Posted by Lauren S. Friday, December 21, 2007. A trip back to "Kampung". I went back to my "kampung" where my mother originated from, Serian. The main reason why i went back was because i heard the news that my grandmother fell down and fractured her leg. It was a 45 minutes trip up the Serian road. Thank God the injury was not so serious.
