The Mendoza Family Adventure in South Africa. Capetown, SA (Part Two). Visit to a Safe Home for Kids! July 29, 2011. It is July 29th and the kids “summer break” which is really winter break in South Africa is almost to a close. Aubrey and Emmaus start 1st grade in 2 weeks – I can hardly believe it. We have had a fun few months, mostly doing things around Johannesburg. Here’s what we’ve been up to…. Miss Mary, our live in help and newest family member on an outing with the boys. Flash forward to now, the patio is fixed however, we are still fighting with the insurance company and landlords to have them replace our patio dining set, iphone and BBQ that was ruined. They claim is was user error that we “must have left the gas on too long and it built up.” Note to the insurance people, IT IS A GAS OVEN – THE GAS HAS TO BE ON! Sunday, January 16, 2011. Swim Lessons- Madelyn hits the water. Madelyn just started Swim Lessons in January- the first lesson was full of giggles and laughs. Milestones. Madelyn has had quite a busy last few months. Madelyn - is now officially mobile- watch out for her Army Crawl- 6 and a half months. Madelyn decided to show off a new skill during Thanksgiving- sitting all by herself ( 6 Months). Madelyn first started rolling the first part of October (around 5 Months). Get together in Portland.

We've had 2 big milestones with Rebekah starting kindergarten and Forest starting preschool. It's hard to believe that they are getting so big.
