Bipolar

Tuesday, 24 February 2009. I've been really impressed by the Rethink campaign highlighting the stigma of mental illness and calling for change. It's made me think a lot about stigma, and I definitely listen to peoples views on madness and mental illness more closely. My basic conclusion is that the campaign is well overdue, but I think it's a huge undertaking. Because I am not mad and I am not mental, I suffer from a mental illness and that's a very different way of describing things. I realise that ther...

Bipolar: The Beginning

http://www.mentalinlondon.blogspot.com/2009/02/beginning.html

Sunday, 1 February 2009. After reading many blogs for months I've decided to start my own. It may well end up being an online mood diary but I wanted to write it after reading many other blogs by people living with mental illness. Some I've found inspiring, some sad, some made me angry. I've also found it really useful to read blogs my medical professionals. I've managed to catch up on sleep now and am able to concentrate a little better. . Thanks for reading . Bipolar: Swings and Roundabouts

http://www.mentalinlondon.blogspot.com/2009/02/swings-and-roundabouts.html

Tuesday, 10 February 2009. The last week has been a real challenge, this illness really is difficult to control. The first couple of nights I managed a bit more sleep but not much more and one night I went out, and stayed out all night which wasn't a good idea really. A few days ago though things started to slow down and my head slowed right down. I realise that there is a part of me that likes the high but I know I have to control it, because all too soon I could end up sectioned. Goodbye to a good man.

Bipolar: Waking Up

http://www.mentalinlondon.blogspot.com/2009/02/waking-up.html

Monday, 2 February 2009. There isn't much I like about having this illness but at the moment I'm coming out of a long depressive period and it's amazing to be waking up again, to feel like there might just be a future, a reason to make it to my next birthday. It's nice not to be googling the following for hours on end: suicide painless methods, how many seroquel do i need to die? Poisons online uk delivery, bipolar disorder suicide rates, can 1 litre of vodka depakote seroquel kill? In my own dumb company.

Spinning Plates | also known as British Children's Social Work | Page 2

https://sw2be.wordpress.com/page/2

Also known as British Children's Social Work. January 12, 2011 by sw2be. I was offered my first social work post almost 2 months ago now and still haven’t started work, to my great frustration. There is only so much daytime TV a person can take and I suspect my brain may be slowly turning to mush. I long for the stimulation of work again. The only thing outstanding is the CRB check. Ironically, many checks may well be delayed because some people may require multiple checks within short periods, for diffe...

Mental Infusion | irregular thoughts of a mentally infused being

Irregular thoughts of a mentally infused being. This past week has been very difficult for me. I struggle everyday to leave the room, today was the hardest. I contemplated staying in and caving but if did, how will I explain it to my family I am depressed? I completely realized and comprehend the heaviness of this responsibility. I don’t know if u am thinking rationally or is it me finding more excuses or worse reasons to blame myself. October 3, 2014. September 25, 2014. Pouring it all out. Is it okay t...

Mental in KL

Starting Again. Starting Fresh. June 13, 2016. I thought it had only been a year since my last posting. Since logging in, I realised it has been 2 years. Time flies, indeed. I can give a million reasons for the long silence. The most important, I guess, is that I grew complacent. After my last posting, things got better for me. Life seemed to be looking up. It was a refreshing perspective. Things were happening. I found myself more involved in other things. The mood swings are sudden and drastic. The...

The Indian Idle

Tuesday, March 08, 2011. I want but not really no I don’t. When I was in college I remember being led to this office. I was part of a group of three who had been hired to hand out leaflets at malls and cinema halls. It was to pay us 150 rupees per day which at that time was damn good money. It still is, in some ways. So. The office. Wanted her job. And her, but that’s another thing altogether. I have seen people sitting and discussing the latest ads and how they played an important part in the story, the...
