Foul Tips: November 2008
http://foultips.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Just getting a piece of it to stay alive. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. I'm not saying I'm qualified to be a baseball writer, but I'm definitely more qualified than at least one member of the BBWAA. Sorry about not blogging this season. 2008 turned out to be a pretty busy year for me. got married, took a honeymoon, bought a house, adopted a puppy. One member of the BBWAA decided that Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett was worthy of a fifth-place vote. Bartlett only appeared on the one delusional...

Foul Tips: June 2006
http://foultips.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Just getting a piece of it to stay alive. Monday, June 26, 2006. My June 26 All-Star Ballot. Previous vote: Paul Konerko). Morneau's incredible June has lifted him to the upper echelon of AL first basemen. Keeping in mind that David Ortiz, Travis Hafner, and Jason Giambi are all designated hitters and not really first basemen, the choice comes down to Morneau or Konerko. Konerko has the edge in batting average, they each have 19 homeruns, and Morneau has a small edge in RBI. Nothing has changed here.

Foul Tips: March 2007
http://foultips.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Just getting a piece of it to stay alive. Friday, March 30, 2007. Ron Gardenhire and Terry Ryan can be a stubborn bunch, so now that the Twins 25 man regular season roster has been finalized, I'd be pretty surprised to see them tweak it before opening day. It's just not the way things are done in Twins territory. Which is just common sense. Gonzalez wouldn't push Bartlett or Luis Castillo for their jobs, and he certainly won't be a name that would generate much excitement among the general Twins fan base...

Just getting a piece of it to stay alive. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Twins Broadcaster Fiction Part II. From Tuesday, May 30's Twins-Angels radio broadcast. Dan Gladden: "(Juan) Rivera's got a little bit of dog in him. He was with the Yankees a few years ago, he was the guy who went into Derek Jeter's locker and stole his glove.". John Gordon: "Yep. mmm hmmm.". Gladden: "If that's the right Rivera? Gordon: "Yes it is, he's had his share of problems.". Posted by Daniel Cote @ 9:55 PM. Monday, May 29, 2006.

Foul Tips: April 2007
http://foultips.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Just getting a piece of it to stay alive. Tuesday, April 10, 2007. My buddy Jason selected Sir Sidney Ponson of the Minnesota Twins in the 27th round (of 28) of the Heart of a Champion Fantasy Baseball League. Draft By that point of the day, five hours into 12 dudes sitting in a living room on a Saturday afternoon, drinking beer and picking players for our pretend teams, it was a fun, low-risk pick. Jason proudly defended his pick, "I have faith in Meatloaf! And just like that, a nickname was born. In th...
