Reflection on Project 2: Physical and Visual Texture | merylgrung
https://merylgrung.wordpress.com/2015/05/30/reflection-on-project-2-physical-and-visual-texture
Reflection on Project 2: Physical and Visual Texture. I found pencils the easiest to minipulate to creat texture, tone and line as they can do all three but of course are limited on colour. The drawing pens are fun to use and the need to be committed to the mark I found to be good practice and a challenge. Still life study of detail and tone. Stilllife (drawing with drawing pen and dipping ink). Line drawing. Physical and visual texture. Dying Rose (line drawing with drawing pen). May 30, 2015. You are c...
Part 2, Project 4, Exercise 4. Monochrome | merylgrung

Part 2, Project 4, Exercise 4. Monochrome. Monochrome still life in pastels. I am new to pastels and have been rather reluctant to use them in the past. This drawing allowed me the opportunity to explore how to build up colours and what kind of marks and texture I can achieve. I still have a long way to go but was impressed at the range of textures I was able to create and also the different types of marks that I could create. This entry was posted in ASSIGNMENT 2. Still life using line and tone using colour | merylgrung

Still life using line and tone using colour. Still life (line drawing using drawing pen and dipping ink). Still life in tone using colour (pastels). I found I enjoyed the tone drawing much more as the challenge of creating depth and perspective was more interesting than in the line drawing which I found more limiting. I did however enjoy the drama of the line drawing with ink, although the level of committment required when making a mark was quite intimidating at times. June 1, 2015. You are commenting u...
Part 2, Project 4, Exercise 3: Experiment with mixed media | merylgrung

Part 2, Project 4, Exercise 3: Experiment with mixed media. Drawing using dipping ink, waterclour pencil and marker pen. For this exercise I used dipping inks, waterclour pencils and marker pens on wall paper liner. Because the liner is very absorbant it let itself to a loose style of drawing with the inks and contrasted nicely with the softer, clearer lines of the pencils and the clear deliniating lines of the marker pens. Postive and negative space | merylgrung

Postive and negative space. While researching the work of Patrick Caulfield I was struck by how much his work reminded me of the cut outs done by Matisse. He was, of course influenced by Matisse and Cubism and I found that, in particular two works by Matisse kept springing to mind while looking at the work of Caulfield, in particular Landscape viewed from a Window and The Dance I. Matisse, H. 1913 Landscape viewed from a Window. [oil on canvas], Location: Pushkin Museum, Moscow, Russia. I also found the ...

If you have found this page, you probably lifted it from my email address. I used to have a blog here, and a link to a few web applications I was working on in my spare time. However, with work and family commitments, I don't have time for these anymore. However, I still love having my own URL for my email address, along with several other benefits to having a web domain, so this is a place holder for right now.

Los Angeles. Maryland. I know families that have problems, seem perfect, or are loving. To me, my family is all those things. Although we fight or get into disagreements, we have a constant baseline of love, no matter what happens. Here, my family decided to go on a walk - as you can see, it’s never just a simple walk in the park with them. Andrew - short depth of field.
