Troll of the week #4: the registry is good fun. Categories: Troll of the week. I’ve been AWOL for a while so let’s have a bumper pack of trolls for our troubles. How many Windows users ever edit the registry, I wonder? Article, this one about Canonical offering paid support. For desktop users. You wouldn’t expect Windows trolls to care, but apparently not. Celebrity Deathmatch: Canonical/Ubuntu Vs Google | DrDan's Blog

Celebrity Deathmatch: Canonical/Ubuntu Vs Google. July 11, 2009. It’s never a good day when a significant, some would say dominant, company enters “your” market. You will always hear the usual “it validates our marketspace”… but it is also usually the sound of the beginning of the end…. This has happened before:. Lotus 1-2-3 Vs Microsoft Excel. Novell Netware Vs Microsoft. Next on the list:. Linux Vs Microsoft Windows Vs MacOS X. VMware Vs Microsoft [Thoughts from Dave Cappuccio of Gartner. PS Your headi...

A day with Opera | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/a-day-with-opera
Lots of Love for Linux. A day with Opera. There’s a very good piece of software there, and it seems like the developers want to make it absolutely impossible for me to enjoy it. I tried a few times to make Opera my default browser, and every time I spend hours tweaking and configuring things, and even longer hours searching the web how things should be configured or tweaked. And then I just give up. But it sure feels like it some times. Think I’m nitpicking? Maybe I am, but the whole panel/bar/everything...

The inevitable announcement of a hiatus | Celettu's Weblog

Lots of Love for Linux. The inevitable announcement of a hiatus. The more observant amongst you probably noticed a lack of new content here…apparently, I can’t bring myself to post about my “linux adventures anymore”. As far as I can see, there are three reasons for that. Anyway, this will be the last post for a while. If I suddenly start tinkering again, the results will be posted here. Peace out. A day at the Opera, part two | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2010/07/13/a-day-at-the-opera-part-two
Lots of Love for Linux. A day at the Opera, part two. I’ve blogged about Opera before, and at the time. Version 9.5), I didn’t like it at all. It felt too clunky and too difficult to configure to keep it around, and at the time I switched back to Firefox. I semi-regularly kept trying the new versions, and each time came to the same conclusions. Now however, there is a new version. Windows vs. Linux: out-of-the-box functionality | Tolkien Studies, Linux & Origami
https://ukrainianhobbit.wordpress.com/2009/06/04/windows-vs-linux-out-of-the-box-functionality
Tolkien Studies, Linux and Origami. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Windows vs. Linux: out-of-the-box functionality. They say that Linux is unsuitable for home users because “it requires so much configuration”. Today I thought about it and realised that in this respect Windows is even less suitable because an out-of-the-box Windows is almost impossible to use. This table only mentions things that concern using Windows and Linux out of the box. So it does not list many other aspects.). Try being given ...
