Family & Home. Bees & Swaps. My Small World QAL – Section 4. Welcome to Section 4 of the My Small World QAL. Family & Home. Bees & Swaps. Category Archives: Bees, Swaps, QALs, and Hops. More from the Farm. The process of making these fiddly little Farmer’s Wife blocks is so much fun. I spent a couple of hours last week (watching The Americans on Amazon) pairing up fabrics for the next 30 blocks on my list. That bit was just as enjoyable as actually finishing the blocks. The method I’ve figured out so far involves:. 1 Pairing up fabrics with the same feel as the ones in the book. 4 Sew, press, and photograph!

Is there a technique on your list to learn this year? How do you like to learn new techniques? I would love to do more foundation paper piecing. I have done a few blocks here and there (all bee blocks, I think! Where do you find your inspiration? Who are your quilt idols? Jen Kingwell, another Aussie, is a big favourite too. As I̵...

Family & Home. Bees & Swaps. My Small World QAL – Fabrics Plans. Welcome to the My Small World Quilt-Along! I’ve also rounded up a selection of low volume prints from my scrap bin. I suspect I’ll end up having to purchase a few more once the main part of the quilt is complete. Low volumes are hard to come by and I’ve been using them up quite a bit in recent projects. And also pop by to visit my co-hosts! The hastag #mysmallworldQAL is already filling up with wonderful inspiration on Instagram. Would love...

Canberra Modern Quilt Guild. Members spotlight: Danielle part one. October 22, 2014. October 27, 2014. With this post we have another very talented guild member, Danielle. To start, tell us a little bit about yourself! What got you interested in quilting? When did you first find modern quilting? And the sewing (and fabric collecting) frenzy began. I spent a lot of time lurking on modern quilting groups on Flickr, and participated in quite a few swaps and bees. The first quilt Mum made for me is now over ...
