AEDM Day 29: Inchies | Life Under the Apple Tree
https://lifeundertheappletree.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/aedm-day-29-inchies
Life Under the Apple Tree. AEDM Day 29: Inchies. Soul Journaling Day Six: Inchies. I wasn’t crazy about this cut-and-paste exercise from the Soul Journaling prompts. But I’m loving my handmade journal. The pages are really tough (“solid” is a good way to describe them), especially when you start adding media to them, and they lay nice and flat. I’ll definitely be making more of these. 29 November, 2009 at 10:18 pm. Art Every Day Month. Laquo; AEDM Days 25-28: Doodles and Sketches. Enter your comment here.

Life Under the Apple Tree. AEDM Day 22: Sketch of Andrea. Andrea, Thanksgiving 2006. My aim is to capture a soul, a certain spark, or a glimpse of what it means to be human. I’m not sure I succeeded here, but I like it, and I’m happy that I’ve confronted my fears and attempted it. 22 November, 2009 at 9:09 pm. Art Every Day Month. In Hindsight: All It Takes Is You | Life Under the Apple Tree

Life Under the Apple Tree. In Hindsight: All It Takes Is You. My neighbor and I were talking a few days ago about gay marriage. She is gay and lives with her partner next door. She believes strongly that gay marriage should be legalized. She said, “That will NEVER happen.”. I immediately backed down (a bad habit of mine that I want to break), and said, “No, it won’t, but it should,” or something lame like that. 30 December, 2009 at 1:00 am. Posted in In Hindsight. AEDM Day 21: Easy-Peasy Art Journals | Life Under the Apple Tree
https://lifeundertheappletree.wordpress.com/2009/11/22/aedm-day-21-easy-peasy-art-journals
Life Under the Apple Tree. AEDM Day 21: Easy-Peasy Art Journals. Yesterday Jessa (my ten-year-old daughter who has been doing AEDM with me) and I made these Easy Peasy Journals as instructed by Samantha Kira. They are made with manilla folders for extra thick paper, with the pages sewn in, which is something I’ve never done before. Now we have our very own hand-made journals that should hold up to paint, gesso, glue, sanding, and just about anything! So many ideas, so little time! Art Every Day Month.

Life Under the Apple Tree. AEDM Days 25-28: Doodles and Sketches. Day 25 – Incorporating words into a zentangle, done in the car (thus the wiggly lines). Day 27 – I didn’t do anything that I want to share on Thanksgiving Day, but I did do artwork, and I did a lot of work on the following day. Here’s my attempt at a free-drawn girl. I need a lot of work in the area of drawing people without having anything to look at! Day 27 – Zentangle in red. 28 November, 2009 at 6:21 pm. Art Every Day Month. 28 Novembe...

The story tree at honeybee. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Slippery dips and rainbows of colour. Look what Sarah and I built in the shop today! Putting together this new marble tower. From Grimm's Spiel and Holz was just the thing to do on a cool Autumn day. We immersed ourselves in the colour and the smell of new wood - it was so meditative! It reminded me of the old style slippery dip I rode by the seaside in England (yes, I was 30 at the time! Melissa Ellen, Honeybee Toys. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

AEDM Day 24: Setting My Soul Free | Life Under the Apple Tree
https://lifeundertheappletree.wordpress.com/2009/11/24/aedm-day-24-setting-my-soul-free
Life Under the Apple Tree. AEDM Day 24: Setting My Soul Free. This page is based upon Sarah Whitmire’s Soul Journaling. Prompt for Day 3 called “Soul Armor.” The instructions say to find or draw an image of armor that will nourish and protect your creative spirit. Personally, I’ve lived long enough behind armor! What my creative spirit needs, what I need, is the courage to live openly and comfortably in my own skin. 24 November, 2009 at 10:31 pm. Art Every Day Month. Laquo; AEDM Day 22: Sketch of Andrea.

the story tree at honeybee...: March 2011
http://honeybeetoys.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The story tree at honeybee. Monday, March 28, 2011. Why we love Fairytales. Albert Einstein observed,. If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be geniuses, read them more fairy tales. When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than any talent for abstract, positive thinking.". The Power of Stories. We are always adding more fairytales to our collection. Melissa Ellen, Honeybee Toys.
