Morgan update - The girl in pearls and hiking boots. You people and your quaint little categories. - Captain Jack Harkness. 27 October 2013 @ 10:01 pm. Weve been travelling a lot this month, so I havent been posting much about Morgan. And so here is an update of exciting Morgan factoids! Shes doing something I would feel reasonably credible calling running. Shes also doing more assisted climbing of various objects: playground equipment, furniture, mommy, etc. Shes also really into being flung aro...OH I ...

August wrap-up - pixels and distance

August wrap-up - pixels and distance. Mon, Sep. 8th, 2014 10:38 pm. The first part of August was pretty busy. But its all been fun stuff. The end of it was more lowkey, with some catching up - cleaning everything, getting photos off my camera and my phone, reading all the everything about #ferguson :/ - plus friends birthday bbqs and some chilling at the lake. The backyard is full of ripe blackberries and tomatoes and life is pretty good. Cow and tiny donkey. This is what it looks like done. I didn't...

Musings on fibromyalgia - Mamagotcha's journal
http://mamagotcha.livejournal.com/328390.html
What WAS i thinking? Sep 12th, 2014 at 5:16 PM. Today, after dealing with years of worsening chronic pain, I received an Official Diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I am surprisingly happy and relieved to finally have my experience validated by a professional, but more than a little frightened and sad because this thing does not get better. You manage it, and you learn to carefully dole out your resources (aka the spoon theory. Part of me wants to blame something. vaccinations! Retreat this fall, woohoo! One thi...

An open letter to anyone upset about Target not dividing up its toys by gender - Bartender Geek

An open letter to anyone upset about Target not dividing up its toys by gender - Bartender Geek. An open letter to anyone upset about Target not dividing up its toys by gender. Aug 14th, 2015 04:10 pm. I'm 41 years old. When I was a kid, when I walked into a Toys 'R Us, most toys weren't marked "for boys" and "for girls". Yes, the Barbies were together, and there WERE things that were gendered, but it wasn't explicitly put on the signs. In fact, as far as I can tell, even in societies where toys were gen...

My niece is back home. - Bartender Geek. My niece is back home. Jul 26th, 2015 07:36 pm. Lis's brother in Florida tied the knot with his girlfriend a bit over a week ago, which means that her daughter is now OFFICIALLY our niece. In celebration, we got to take her up here for a week. And it was wonderful. This was the first time we spent a lot of time together - we'd only met her a couple times previously. And we knew we really loved her the minute we met her, but this just cemented it.

A thought Lis just had about INSIDE OUT: - Bartender Geek

A thought Lis just had about INSIDE OUT: - Bartender Geek. A thought Lis just had about INSIDE OUT:. Aug 14th, 2015 10:11 pm. Lis just pointed this out to me. After she had the thought, she started poking around, and other people have had it, too, but I credit it to Lis. The ONLY character who has both male and female emotions is the main character Riley, whose anger and fear are male, and whose joy, sadness, and disgust are female. Does this mean that Riley is genderqueer in some fashion? Presents as qu...

Cover Reveal! - Attention Rebellious Jezebels
http://karenhealey.livejournal.com/993382.html
Nov 19th, 2013 at 7:41 PM. Internets, what does one do during a six hour layover at Auckland airport? If one has the money and inclination, one buys an ad hoc pass to the Koru club international lounge, which is about ten thousand times quieter and more relaxing than the regular terminal, even though they don't have proper diet coke, but only Coke Zero, that weak shadow of the perfect form of non-food non-sustenance. One then shows one's readers the Australian/New Zealand cover to one's next novel:.

Pri la Denaskuloj - ptor. 10:41 am December 29th, 2014. Interesting thoughts about the nature of community. I was reading a Q&A from the perspective of a "denaskulo". Someone raised with their first language as Esperanto. The guy described how he negatively associated the language with his parents and their associated Esperanto movement beliefs and goals. He talked about his difficulties entering public school as a kid from a different language and culture. What's the right path? Or Leave a comment.

3 positive things day 2 - pixels and distance

3 positive things day 2 - pixels and distance. Sat, Sep. 6th, 2014 06:41 pm. 3 positive things day 2. Am working on a longer entry, but here are 3 positive things from yesterday:. 1) The rocking gothtastic local coffeeshop I meet my friend at once or twice a week to do work. Yesterdays conversation (roughly): I want something mocha-y but fruity, whatcha got? Barista: Have you had Your Mom? Sun, Sep. 7th, 2014 02:02 pm (UTC). Coffee should never be described thus. Cherry tomatoes or full-sized?

3 positive things day 3 - pixels and distance. Sun, Sep. 7th, 2014 05:51 pm. 3 positive things day 3. 1) My pirate tank top, which I got at C20. I struggle with my relationship to clothes sometimes and this fits perfect, was cheap, is supercomfy, *and* I feel both hot and badass in it. Plus pirates. And it was cheap! 2) Blackberries, which grow themselves and fill your mouth with tangysweet. Wed, Sep. 17th, 2014 03:41 pm (UTC). Blackberries are the best. Yay, September!
