An Ever Fixed Mark: August 2009
http://an-ever-fixed-mark.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
An Ever Fixed Mark. Thursday, August 06, 2009. Things I no longer have to do:. Flag down the colectivo. Here, the buses stop if you are at the bus stop! I flagged down the bus as I went into the center today, and the driver explained to me that I did not have to do that, he would stop at all bus stops if someone was there. I felt like an idiot. But it became second nature to step to the curb and raise my hand when I saw a bus coming towards me. She laughed, thought it was funny, and complimented my accent.

An Ever Fixed Mark: March 2009
http://an-ever-fixed-mark.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
An Ever Fixed Mark. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Not in my mind. Do I want to? There have been several instances where practicing with someone who was very influential in my formation as a dancer where the conversation went something like this:. Why are you doing this-thing? Because you told me to.". I don't know, about a year ago? You told me to always do this.". Oh Well, don't anymore. I no longer think that is the way to move/dance/embrace/etc.". Me silently (sometimes not so silently). A few good reads.

An Ever Fixed Mark: October 2009
http://an-ever-fixed-mark.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
An Ever Fixed Mark. Friday, October 16, 2009. You don't want to break up yet. Right? Possibly the best question I have ever been asked during a cortina. The tandas that we have are relationships. They are connections that either happen or don't. And when they do happen, they can be anything from playful to sweet to melancholy to intense. No connection is the same, and no connection can be recreated, even if you go back for more at another time, or if you have a "regular" thing. Friday, October 02, 2009.

An Ever Fixed Mark: Gimme......
http://an-ever-fixed-mark.blogspot.com/2009/12/gimme.html
An Ever Fixed Mark. Wednesday, December 09, 2009. I do not understand the need to "make" someone dance with you. It just goes against what a social dance should be to my mind. Two recent events have spurred this thought and title of this post, which reminds me of a two year old demanding something they can't have. A little while ago the final Tango de los Muertos happened in Boston, and it was a glorious time! The thing is, he never asks me why I don't accept his invitation, it is always a rather pointed...

An Ever Fixed Mark: June 2010
http://an-ever-fixed-mark.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
An Ever Fixed Mark. Monday, June 28, 2010. So I thought I should add this in. So here it is - my observations and thoughts. Common sense that no one tells you:. In the higher end shops they speak English, but other than that, very few folks do. Learn the basics of Spanish and if you can bring a digital translator with you, that is a good idea. If you need any soy products, go to barrio Chino to the Casa de Soya, best soy milk I every bought, made fresh daily and no preservatives, so if you don’t dr...

An Ever Fixed Mark: July 2010
http://an-ever-fixed-mark.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
An Ever Fixed Mark. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Cruel to be Kind? At a very popular NYC milonga, I found myself in an awkward situation. I think that the choice that I made might have been the correct one, even though it was perhaps the "wrong" one as I did give unsolicited feedback in a sense. He sort of fell down into the chair beside me, absolutely crestfallen, and said "Is that why I can't get anyone to dance with me? Oh boy. Tango Etiquette Lesson 101. I then explained to him how one should ask someone ...

It has been an unexplainable, all-consuming, untamed, all-or-nothing, love-hate affair. I knew from the very first instant. He swept me off my feet, suddenly, instantly, completely. Without so much as a cloud of warning, he stormed into my life, seduced me and made me his in a way I can never belong to anyone else. Links to this post. 10) You...

The Adventures of Two Single Tangueras From New York City. Thursday, December 27, 2007. Buenos Aires - Day 5. Where something stirs you up inside and gives you a whole new perspective on things. Yes, it was just a lunch, but nevertheless, one of our best times in BsAs. We felt as if we had stopped time for a little while, capturing a fleeting moment. The place was full of tourists, it wasn't a good milonga night. At the entrance I saw an immaculately dressed older gentlemen, standing next to the door...

Is there really such a big market for these looks because it seems that's all I am able to find? I mean come on ladies!
