Dieter is originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania. He started playing the saxophone in 5th grade and eventually moved from classical to jazz. He graduated from Ithaca College in Music Education and in Jazz Performance from New York University. Some of the first jazz artists Dieter listened to were John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Joshua Redman, and the Yellow Jackets. Listening to these players firmly implanted a love of jazz in Dieter. They included Jake (pictured) a 12 week old lab/setter mix , two boxer/schnauzer mix puppies and Kaijou a 8 week old Tibetan Spaniel mix.
