Friday, July 3, 2015. Kitchen window view - July 2015. It was a cool (50F) morning and I realized how changed the kitchen window view is now from last year. Showing off well this morning as the sun peaked through the golf course pines. I'm REALLY liking spaRRows. Being just off the deck. Gosh, what a great view this season. I'll post another later in the summer when the veg take off. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day. :-D. What a lovely view! Is kinda pretty. :-D. Is just what we need.

Sunday, August 9, 2015. Bee Ring Bed purge. The deer have devasted the bee forage at the sanctuary to the point that any effort to grow any is pointless and disheartening. So for the past 10 days I've been purging the beds. I dreaded the work what with my deteriorating ankle and other new and painful ailments that would make digging impossible. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. It was hot and sticky Sunday morning, but I did manage to get some outside chores done. I cut back the big tomato plants against the fence and tied them up. I cut off all the spent hostas stalks (front and back beds). Fertilized pots in spaRRows. Did a lot of deadheading, pulled weeds, tidied up in the swing bed. Then, since 2 of the 3 garage barrels were now empty, I cleaned them out and made them ready for any rain we might get. It was all water. And the thunder and lightning ...

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. We're enjoying some really nice sunshine this week so the deck gets very hot once the sun clears the tall trees to the east. I'd been using the RiteAid umbrellas on and off since I got them, but yesterday I set up the big one from the shed. It, like the old one, is used as an awning to shade all the windows into the breezeway else that place gets very uncomfortable. Look at all the fun umbrellas! Funny how weve gone from its too dark, cloudy and rainy to ugh, its hot and sunny!
