Op safari in Namibië: Out of Africa
http://meubanam.blogspot.com/2006/08/out-of-africa.html
Op safari in Namibië. Hans, Monique, Bart en Rik. Mijn volledige profiel weergeven. H...Heel tevr...

Through the Middle East: September 2005
http://meubats.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Through the Middle East. Friday, September 23, 2005. After the countdown the time comes to leave our familiar area and look for adventure again. First we have to drive about 1400 km through the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy to get to the port of La Spezia. Not far from Genua where Colombus left Italy for his journey. We do not expect to find unexplored land but will explore places that are new to us. I already have a chance to practise my French again with some Tunisians returning to visit ...

So off we go for our third long journey. At the moment we are organising visa. Egypt is already in our pasport, Syria will follow soon. For Libya we will have to use a local touroperator, either Arkno of Sari. Other countries will issue visa at the border without problems and in Europe our pasports will do.

Through the Middle East: Journey, winter in Turkey
http://meubats.blogspot.com/2006/01/journey-winter-in-turkey.html
Through the Middle East. Friday, January 06, 2006. Journey, winter in Turkey. We have to wait at the border of Turkey because they have lunch first. Good idea, so we have lunch in between the two borders next to the mine fields. The next morning the sun shines and we head for Cappadocia. By the time we have to climb a pass of 1650 m the sun is gone, the mist all around and the temperatures are dropping below zero once more. Within no time there is snow all around us: a white Christmas! The presents to be...

Through the Middle East: Groups
http://meubats.blogspot.com/2005/12/groups.html
Through the Middle East. Sunday, December 04, 2005. The next day we continue south with another convoy. Not with the tour groups at 3.30 am but conveniently at 11. Before the airport we take the wrong way and the convoy goes ahead No blowing horns today. No problems at the road blocks if we get there by ourselves and in Abu Simbel we stay in front of the Abu Simbel. Thus we spend the last days in Egypt before going even more to the east: Jordan. Posted by Hans, Monique, Bart en Rik @ 6:47 pm.

Through the Middle East: Houses
http://meubats.blogspot.com/2005/12/houses.html
Through the Middle East. Monday, December 19, 2005. In the Sinai of Egypt and in Jordan we see a lot of Bedouin tents pitched somewhere in the desert. Some tents are made from woven wool, but others from old brown bags sewn together. Somehow all the way it looks like houses are never really built according to a city plan, but just somewhere on the available lot the owner bought. Compared to Holland it is so organized over there. We have no desire to visit Amman (smog and too big) so we drive to the east ...

Through the Middle East: Kids
http://meubats.blogspot.com/2006/01/kids.html
Through the Middle East. Monday, January 16, 2006. Even though Rik often went for a walk on his own and we had to go after him. The next morning the road turns out to be completely different: the worst of the whole trip! The highlight for the boys however is Teddy, the dog, and to walk the dog is a great experience they enjoy very much. "Come Teddy" says Rik and even though the temperatures are low Bart wants to walk Teddy 4 times the next day. Anyway the boys play happily, we type the stories and take a...
