Hurlingham Park was the home of the old Brighton Soccer Club. The club played from the East Brighton venue from foundation in 1924 until a move to Elsternwick Park in 1954. The 1915 season was one with crucial pieces missing, at least in terms of the Second Division standings. The First Division was covered well enough by the media of the day, especially the multi-sport newspaper The Winner. Division Two, which contained some reserves ("A") teams of Division One clubs, was less well covered. It's only by checking Friday evening editions of The Herald. My World Is Round.

More of their history can be found in this 40th Anniversary Dinner Dance Programme from 2003. 1974 World Cup Socceroo Jimmy Rooney can be found around the place on any match day carrying out coaching duties with both the junior and senior set-ups.
