seaschell: July 2013
http://seaschell.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 15, 2013. Tutorial: embroidered quilt labels. Labeling your finished quilt is very important. It identifies you as the maker and gives details that you might not be able to remember after you've made many! Plus, who knows where that quilt will be in 100 years. I've seen enough vintage quilts to know how great it would be if I knew the stories behind them. Freezer paper to fit. Scrap paper and pencil (or computer and printer). Embroidery hoop (mine is 7 inches). 3 Using the scrap paper and pe...

seaschell: the tinkertote
http://seaschell.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-tinkertote.html
Thursday, September 12, 2013. I am so, so proud of my dear friend Tara. She released a great class on Craftsy. Called Quilt As You Go Patchwork Bags. In this class, Tara guides you through making her fabulous pattern, the Tinkertote. She begins by teaching the Quilt As You Go (QAYG) technique and you practice with a potholder and an optional clutch. I also added a key fob in the seam of the lining so I don't have to rummage around for my car keys while simultaneously holding a squirmy toddler. Subscribe ...

2011 Cowtown Marathon
http://www.runnersusan.com/2011/03/03/2011-cowtown-marathon
March 3, 2011. The first marathon I’ve run since Chicago 2008. I can’t believe so many years have gone by since I’ve run a marathon. I was on a roll for a while 1-2 marathons per year since 2004. Then I crapped out. Was kind enough to travel to Fort Worth and run the world’s slowest marathon with me. He would have run much faster if he had run his own race, but he was kind and stuck with me. And I’m glad he did – because my secret plan was to bail at the half. And in case you are wondering, running a mar...

Voulez-vous crochet avec moi?: February 2012
http://www.nancymoo.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 27, 2012. So I apparently, I am just not quite motivated enough to draw out that diagram and get it up on the blog for the twirly scarf. I'll do it soon, I promise! But until then, here is some (or a lot) Ruffin love from the past few weeks! Our favorite Christmas present (the wagon, from Grandpop)! Hat crocheted by Mommy, of course! Taking advantage of our spring-like winter to check out a worm! No, Mommy, I don't need a nap. Is so much fun! And eating is too! Ruffin is the best!

CrossSums...Adding Christ to Every Day: Rugs - in my spare time
http://crosssums.blogspot.com/p/rugs-in-my-spare-time.html
CrossSums.Adding Christ to Every Day. Rugs - in my spare time. Rugs - in my spare time. Revelation 21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”. After getting very aggravated with another bath rug falling apart after washing it, I decided to make my own rugs. Thanks to a blog called Mia and the Boys. I discovered that I liked it so much, I couldn't help but crochet these rugs whenever I had the chance. Guess what my family members are getting for Christmas this year?

seaschell: September 2013
http://seaschell.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. For a good cause. The raffle is now closed. You can still donate to a good cause, though! I'm sure by now you've heard about the floods in Colorado. Our family is fine and we personally didn't experience flooding, but many near us have. The devastation left in the wake of the floodwaters is staggering. Clean up and recovery are going to take a lot of time and money. The quilt she's giving away is awesome! Friday, September 13, 2013. Finish it up friday: a comforting quilt.

seaschell: finish it up friday: a comforting quilt
http://seaschell.blogspot.com/2013/09/finish-it-up-friday-comforting-quilt.html
Friday, September 13, 2013. Finish it up friday: a comforting quilt. This is the first time I've made a quilt specifically to comfort someone sick. Without getting into lots of family details, I'll say that my little brother's dad (who is not my dad) is in the hospital, and is supposed to be there for upwards of a month. I loosely quilted on each side of every seam, specifically to keep the quilt soft and cozy. It's a nice lap size and I hope it gives my brother's dad comfort. Pattern: 9" square patchwork.
