Guy Hever was born on 30th May 1977 in Tel Aviv. He later moved with his parents Rina and Eitan to the northern community of Kochav Yair. Guy is an older brother to twins Shir and Or, who celebrated their respective Bat and Bar Mitzvah knowing that their elder brother was being held somewhere, against his will. To this day the family are continuing to pursue every possible avenue to the whereabouts of Guy.

Zachary Baumel was born in Brooklyn New York on 17th November 1960. He has two older siblings a brother Shimon and a sister Osna. Up until 1970 Zak attended the Hebrew Institute of Boro Park, also known as Yeshiat Etz Chaim. In 1970 the family immigrated to Israel, moving to the Haifa suburb of Kiryat Motzkin. Zachary was enrolled at the nearby State Religious School, and later attended Midreshiat No’am High School in Pardess Hannah.
