I’m Dr. Michael Criner, Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Bellville, TX. A church that has had a presence in Austin County for almost 160 years. I grew up in Texas and have spent the past 11 years in full-time ministry, and the past four years living and pastoring in the Austin County Area. I’m married to a woman beyond my dreams, Abigail, for 10 years, and we are raising three little girls age 6 and under – Adele, Ruth, and Talitha. One of my favorite verses is Acts 20:24 in which Paul says.

Finding the treasure chest of the riches and the beauty of the gospel. If someone would have asked me after almost three years as the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Bellville, if anything has taken me by surprise – I would say this – the amount of suffering and affliction and difficulty so many of our people would face and endure. Following Jesus simply does not promise. Me or you a life that escapes affliction or difficulty. There is nothing in the Bible that promotes that type of thinking.

Monday, November 3, 2014. Way back in June after our big trip and before Kristen's wedding, I hosted a bachelorette weekend extravaganza for Kristen and her bridesmaids. It was a relaxing weekend celebrating Kristen, swimming, and of course eating. Saturday morning was her shower where we showered (duh) her with unmentionables perfect for the honeymoon.
