July 6, 2013. I recently went to an amusement park. I wasn’t amused. I was fucking terrified. I was ashamed to notice that all of my friends could go onto rides that I found too dangerous. Me? Almost. I need to do something about this…. Fear has a bigger role in our lives than one might think. After a couple of years of thinking, I find that it is a very profound and necessary feeling and motivator in humans. It’s the base of almost everything we do or think. What are we afraid then? Pain – no pain.

I’ve added these images to show that my prescription has stabilized, and even improved slightly, since starting very half-hearted vision improvement in 2009. If nothing else, this shows that my efforts to only wear as much prescription as I need at any one time (e.g. -3.50 for cooking and using the computer) has halted the progression of my myopia.
