Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Tuesdays with Dorie 4 of 15. I didn't participate in last week's TWD - marshmallows just aren't my thing - even homemade. But this week's selection. WOW! Amanda of slow like honey. Bill’s Big Carrot Cake. Finally, a year or so ago, I took a class on baking at altitude - it was really pretty simple, reduce the leavening ( sugar, salt, baking powder) and increase the liquid/density ( water or oil - or add sour cream! This was no exception. Bill's Big Carrot Cake. 190; teaspoon salt.

My oldest child is days away from official teenage-hood. She will be 13 in just a few days. Wow. This is bigger than was turning 40. The cogs in the wheel of time are cranking along, just as they always have- only I'm more aware of them these days. What does a just-about-to-turn-13 year old girl want for her birthday? His name is Moo-Meister.

On the ol' blog, that is. Which I think reflects some shifting priorities in our lives. The take-home message of The Lorax has been resonating pretty loudly for me lately. We live such a typical suburban lifestyle: 3 kids, 2 jobs, constant moving to and from activities- I can't imagine having less than 2 vehicles! Great ...
