Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: R.I.B.bed - for your pleasure!
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2012/12/ribbed-for-your-pleasure.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Monday, 10 December 2012. RIBbed - for your pleasure! RIB or Rigid Inflatable Boat, it's the very best way to travel out to the Bass Rock! I have always been fascinated by the Bass Rock. It's a volcanic plug in the Forth estuary, off the coast of East Lothian. It is a miraculous place, over a hundred feet high and sheer cliff face most of the way round. Actually, because of the weather and other commitments, I have struggled to use the tokens this y...

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Chipped and Rusty
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2013/10/chipped-and-rusty.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Wednesday, 9 October 2013. Finally managed to get a photo of the small painting I did of the prow of a boat in Port Seton harbour. The boat is called the 'Janreen', I love the look of it because it is a bit chipped and rusty, a bit old and weathered, but still working. Full of character. Here's the painting, it's only small, about 13 inches x 10 inches. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Big White Abstract Painting. View my complete profile.

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Biggest Fan / Shameless Plug For Fave Glass Artist
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2013/02/biggest-fan-shameless-plug-for-fave.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Saturday, 23 February 2013. Biggest Fan / Shameless Plug For Fave Glass Artist. I've had a real thrill this weekend - meeting master glassmaker Peter Holmes! I went to Scottish Borders Art Glass. And watched Peter and his son Andrew working together. These photos are of Peter's work from his Selkirk Glass days. Peter is a legend from Caithness Glass to Sekirk Glass and now Scottish Borders Art Glass just outside Hawick. An art glass rock star! Actua...

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Why Draw The Line?
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2014/05/why-draw-line.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Wednesday, 14 May 2014. Why Draw The Line? I'm getting lost in doing everyday stuff. I feel like I am in a box and just peeking out at the the things I want to be doing. I'm happy enough in the box, but I keep thinking about venturing out and doing something. then something else comes along and I pull the flaps shut over me and hunker down to get on with the stuff I SHOULD be doing. Who says what I SHOULD be doing? Can't you use a ruler? Create a be...

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Fergusson in France
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2013/02/fergusson-in-france.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Monday, 11 February 2013. I was in Perth a couple of times last week and with a little time to explore, I walked down to the river and came across the Fergusson Gallery. I've heard of it, but Doh! Hadn't put two and two together to realise that it is dedicated to JD Fergusson! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Big White Abstract Painting. Biggest Fan / Shameless Plug For Fave Glass Artist. Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Creative Heroes
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2013/09/creative-heroes.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Saturday, 14 September 2013. While I was there I went to the National Gallery of Ireland. Who knew they had a Titian on display? And isn't it great that we can look back centuries through his paintings and see the same faces as now - the expressions, the characters, the gestures? So, quite an exciting week. Two creative heroes in the one week! Even managed to paint a picture, but that's another story. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Side Effects
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2014/06/side-effects.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Monday, 23 June 2014. I need to get fitter. It's no good blaming the weather, or not having time, or being too tired. I need to just do it. And the side effects? Well, once I started walking, I was warm enough. Even when it lashed with rain one evening last week, I wasn't cold. Too tired? Since I started making some physical effort, I have slept well and woke up feeling ready to tackle things. And time? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Low Tide at North Berwick
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2013/08/low-tide-at-north-berwick.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Monday, 12 August 2013. Low Tide at North Berwick. I wanted to get some photos of the Bass Rock at the weekend. Came away with dozens, so successful from that point. I particularly wanted to get some of the rocks on the beach that you can only see at low tide - there's a place to the east of N.B. that is a real moonscape when the tide is far enough out. Pure luck that the tide was out! Didn't check the times - wouldn't really know how to!

Michelle Bailey's Art Journal: Googly Eyes
http://michellebaileyartjournal.blogspot.com/2013/08/googly-eyes.html
Michelle Bailey's Art Journal. Seeing a bigger picture. Thursday, 8 August 2013. I'm completely googly eyed, I've been setting up my Etsy shop. Loading up photos, trying to read all the bumf, racking my brain for passwords for email and payment accounts. It's great that you can do all this stuff online, but you end up spending ages staring at the screen and then you get tired eyes. Not exactly conducive to study subjects for drawing!
