http://craftfiction.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Projects from the Classics. Sunday, January 6, 2008. The Long Winter, Chapter 19, "Where There's a Will". By Laura Ingalls Wilder. Ma] put the button in the center of the square of calico. She drew the cloth together over the button and wound a thread tightly around it and twisted the corners of calico straight upward in a tapering bunch. Then she rubbed a little axle grease up the calico and set the button into the axle grease in the saucer. My button lamp lasted an hour! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Projects from the Classics. Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Craft Fiction Workshop #3 Slippers and Salve. The 3rd Craft Fiction workshop was a blast! We made slippers from old blankets and felted sweaters and our own salve with beeswax, olive oil and essential oils. I will post some photos from the workshop. First we traced our feet to make patterns. Then we made patterns for the insoles. We used our patterns to mark the slippers on the wool. After we cut them out we marked the holes for the laces.
