Saturday, September 10, 2011. Bringing Up Girls by James Dobson. Just finished this book and let me tell you, it was helpful! Here are some of my favorites things that I read. Michelle Malkin's advice for parents, "Be "prudes." Be "rude." Be "shrill." And never, ever feel ashamed for asking out loud, "Have you no shame? Chapter Title: Teaching Girls to be Ladies. John Adams (The second president of the US). Chapter Title: The Obsession with Beauty. Researchers found that a father's presence in the home, ...

My Favorite Things: Gettin' Old
http://brianamyfavoritethings.blogspot.com/2011/10/gettin-old.html
Friday, October 7, 2011. October is big in our house, thanks to the two little munchkins who made their debuts during this month. Delaney's birthday is first and will be celebrating her 4th, and Sawyer will be 1. Time doesn't fly around here, it moves warp speed Start Trek style! Born at 34 weeks, Delaney was 4 lbs 6 oz and spent two weeks in the NICU. My grown up, lollipop loving kid! Only minutes old when this pic was taken :). Nearly a year and 8 teeth later, it's hard to remember him as a newborn.

Thursday, May 26, 2011. I'm pretty sure leaving that out is sacrilegious. Ryan and his brother, Aaron, in Afghanistan in 2006. Friday, May 20, 2011. Meet Harry and Sally. No, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan aren't my neighbors. Every time the kids and I head over to the river we see these guys hanging around. These ducks are always together, in the water, waddling around, they even fly side by side. Cute little buggers, aren't they? I got too close so they gave me a rear view and took off. I didn't know this ...

The Erickson Bunch: June 2011

Thursday, June 30, 2011. While Luke's In Africa. I have had little down time to sit and sulk over Luke's absence. But that's not really the reason I have done OK. The reason I have done well is because of God's response to all of your prayers! Never have I felt so at peace while Luke has been away. So I thank you all for your prayers. Please pray for a safe trip home for everyone in Kenya. I'm ready to see my husband! Tuesday, June 21, 2011. I can't believe how beautiful my two little girls are! I bought...

Saturday, January 29, 2011. Friday, January 28, 2011. Luke got to take another day off. It would have only been a half day because of snow but was a full day since I had the stomach flu. Fortunately the snow made it a little more fun. The picture is taken out of our back door. The snow covering all of the trees looks so pretty! We have about 8 to 10 inches and are looking to get some more today. While entertaining Jada he gets Jael (who is not wearing pants) jumping on his back wanting to play! We are no...

Thursday, March 24, 2011. Enter the honesty part of the equation, "Delaney, did you swallow your carrot? Yup" "Open your mouth." "Ahhhhh." Mouth full of carrot. This provides an excellent object lesson for her about what is true and what isn't, along with threats of punishment if she doesn't do some quick chewing. Interestingly, Delaney will choose the most inopportune moment to share the whole truth with whoever will listen. "Why is your belly so big? Friday, March 18, 2011. One Liners From My 3 Year Old.

The Erickson Bunch: July 2011
http://theericksonbunch.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 14, 2011. July 4th and Other Stuff. We had a nice 4th of July this year. We did a lot of NOTHING! Being only two days after Luke's return from Africa, he was exhausted and wanted to relax. Well, his three girls did not mind relaxin with our man! The most excitement the day held was when Jael and daddy went outside and rhrough the sprinkler. Jada enjoyed watching them out the window now that she has figured out how to pull herself up on anything she can grab hold of. Jael, Jada, and Mya.

Thursday, July 16, 2009. Jael is growing up so fast! She is talking ALL THE TIME and repeats everything we say! She loves to go to the park to swing and go down the slide. She's potty training well and loves the marshmallows she gets as a reward! She loves to test the boundaries mommy and daddy set but I guess that's all part of growing up! Even though I know that I NEVER tested the rules growing up. ;-). We have found that she does not enjoy going to the pool! So far it's been a great summer!
