From Latheronwheel to John o Groats is 34.635 miles. It has just taken me 30 minutes to cycle up this hill and i am still smiling. Mick's Lands End to John O Groats. Thursday, 26 August 2010. On route from Thurso to the Orkneys (the extras). I have now finished cycling. Just got a pint at the port waiting for the boat. Thanks to everyone i have had a great adventure todays blog will get posted later. Well that it i am back at the port of Stromness on the Orkney islands, waiting to catch the ferry back to the mainland. Its time to park up my bike and head for a beer. Mick's Lands End to John O Groats. Tuesday, 24 August 2010. Fort William to Inverness. I started my second day in full wet weather gear. This was to be the worse weather of the trip so far. Arriving in Spean Bridge it was too wet to get the camera out, so onwards I went. I passed a pub called Commando Bar before heading on up the hill. Mick's Lands End to John O Groats. Wednesday, 25 August 2010. Earlier i picked up some sweets at a store near Loch Ness i am so glad, there's nothing up here. It had gone 1pm before i found a garage and brought the last sandwich and chicken pie, i don't know what the locals survive on, this prompted a thought of the film, The Hills Have Eyes, better keep moving. I only made a couple of stops to take a couple of photos, more village signs some of them no bigger than Churchill's yard. Posted by Mick Bleach.
