Chestnut is a very durable wood; very good to work with and to cleave. Cleft chestnut gate hurdles are a very attractive and traditional design of fencing. They blend well into the natural environment. They also make very attractive plant supports. Designed and Created by Trueworks.

Coppicing is one of the oldest forms of forestry, and provides a renewable source of wood. In the past, hazel poles and coppice products were an indispensable part of the rural economy. Working in the woods, primarily on hazel coppice management, is one of our favourite aspects of work. We supply bean poles and pea sticks, etc., and cleft lathes for lathe and plaster construction work. We also supply traditional besom brooms. Shown below are samples. We specialise in building fences in situ, as this makes for a stronger, more attractive fence. Our fences are tailored to the site and to the requirements of the customer. Wattle fencing provides a strong and attractive fence, but in exposed places it is important that the fence is suitably treated to extend its life.
