Hurricane Ike hits Cincy. September 17, 2008 at 4:15 pm ( General. We thought we lived in the hurricane free midwest. We were wrong. School has been cancled for 3 days. Our brother and sister-in-law have been without power for 4 days. It’s been a whirlwind, literally. Before cleanup . . . After cleanup . . . With the help of all our neighbors we were able to clean everything up in 9 hours on Monday. Needless to say, I’m baking them all cookies! September 17, 2008 at 9:06 pm. I took her to a Reds game on Friday night and she was SO EXCITED. It was fun to watch her experience this great American past time. There were even fireworks over the Ohio river after the game.
