Middle Crescent Kitchen: May 2010

http://middlecrescentkitchen.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 19, 2010. UPDATE: WE NEVER STOPPED DINING OUT! NEVER GOT TO LEAVE NOW. GOING OUT TO LUNCH! 8220;Uncle.” Seriously, Los Angeles restaurants, you’ve done me in. I’m taking the five-figure amount my husband and I used to spend annually at your tables and spending it on food to make at home. I’ll use the money to buy only the best ingredients. Yes, even those insanely priced tomatoes at the Santa. Farmers Market. I love to cook but time constraints make it somewhat difficult. No matter! The fo...

Middle Crescent Kitchen: September 2009

http://middlecrescentkitchen.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 27, 2009. Wednesday, September 23, 2009. We made our favorite trip on Sunday to Central Coast Wine Country. We stopped at the Classic Organic Farm and Market. I do love Farmers' Markets but I love buying my food directly from the farms even more. Weekend travel plans are often built around trips to farms and orchards, near wineries when possible! We keep a cooler on our backseat, always ready to hold bottles of wine and bags of produce. I love combining apples and rum. Enjoy! If you'd l...

Middle Crescent Kitchen: November 2009

http://middlecrescentkitchen.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 2, 2009. Sunday morning we passed a small, beat-up pick-up truck making its way to a farmers market, its bed jammed with fresh pineapples. Made me think about making pineapple rum cake, which I will bake later this week. We passed McGrath Family Farm. We stopped in Goleta briefly, in search of the farmers market. Our hope was to track down the pineapple truck. Never found them. Not the farmers market. Not the pineapples. I blame Google Maps. We get back on the 101 and head north, passing...

https://icooktheworld.wordpress.com/2010/10/08/to-armenia

I Cook The World. Every Taste Connects Us. Why I Cook The World. October 8, 2010. From the poem “Mysteries of Existence” by Armenia poet Alicia Ghiragossia. What is the mystery. That it can be locked. In a minute of waiting. A second of absence. A split second of need? How can time stretch. Have I still to fold up. Until I see you? And, so, to Armenia.
