The Secret Life of Christina's Garden: July 10th Harvest

http://midsouthgarden.blogspot.com/2009/07/july-10th-harvest.html

The Secret Life of Christina's Garden. Now the 2009 Season of my little, organic garden unfolding with pics, tips, recipes, and food! Friday, July 10, 2009. We're finally getting some vine-ripened tomatoes! We had been pulling some in to the window sill as soon as they blushed because the squirrels have been relentless. After applying some bone meal they've slowed down. The bell pepper plant is full of green ones, but only 1 has started to redden up. That seems to take forever! It actually gives me garde...

The Secret Life of Christina's Garden. Now the 2009 Season of my little, organic garden unfolding with pics, tips, recipes, and food! Saturday, June 27, 2009. Zucchini and Cantaloupe at the end of June. The garden seems to be thriving in this heat wave. It has required a LOT of watering. The kids don't mind, especially when I use the sprinkler - because they get to run through it! They've begun to trail nicely up the supports. Friday, June 26, 2009. Status of the Tomatoes 6-26-09. The Secret Life of Christina's Garden. Now the 2009 Season of my little, organic garden unfolding with pics, tips, recipes, and food! Tuesday, July 7, 2009. The First Harvest from the Kids' Garden. We pulled 2 zucchini and a few 'Royal Burgundy' beans from the Kids' garden today. My older daughter was busy digging around checking the veggies and was happy to find some ready for picking. We trimmed back the marigolds (which must have been giant versions, though that's not what the seeds were!

The Secret Life of Christina's Garden. Now the 2009 Season of my little, organic garden unfolding with pics, tips, recipes, and food! Friday, July 17, 2009. 7-17-09 Lush Greenery and Watermelons. Looking through the Southern bed toward the Kids' Garden. The various basils, Rutgers and Mountain Pride tomatoes. The Cantaloupe vines are spreading everywhere with lots of tiny melons still starting. About 5 melons were large enough to need tying up (since they are on the vertical section. . . Garden Truffles .: February 2009

http://gardentruffles.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 14, 2009. Isn't it odd how difficult getting started can be . And yet how easy a task is once we get started? Garden is that way for me; I have to find a rhythm of activity. Because right now (and usually again in June and October), when I walk through them, I am overwhelmed with ideas and tasks — and despair. However, writing is the first step toward accomplishing my goals. And blogging seems to be a sure path to my gardening goals! Mark areas for bedding plants; determine plantings.

Friday, March 21, 2008. A picture is worth a thousand words . This image presents the status of my garden. Bits of newspaper (my son's Golden Retriever pup .) and other various items needing to be cleared (leaves, tumbleweeds and dead foliage). But it is. My garden and it sprouts bits of color and life within me! Mostly, I am country gardener. No cover photos on Martha's magazine . Just a delightful respite for me to design, experiment and dig in the Oklahoma dirt! And mine is still partying!

http://gardentruffles.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 20, 2008. As an early-riser, I am always delighted when my early morning quiet time is blessed with the background music of birdsongs. These notes begin playing during this time of year: The very early stages of Spring. When the Forsythia begins to bud and the Daffodils are sticking their heads up, the Phlox are beginning to host their buds and the trees begin to start their adornments. Posted by stargardener ★. Sunday, July 13, 2008. This week in my garden . This week was mainly focused upon watering, watering, watering. The regular rain pattern of June has ceased and it is time for sprinklers and soaker hoses. I have enjoyed the low maintenance of this year's plantings. I planted very few annuals this year and have enjoyed the blooms and hues of blues, purples and magentas (with oranges and yellows sprinkled in as accent color). Ah, summertime . In my gardens. Friday, May 30, 2008. A Productive Garden Day! There are times when the weather and this gardener's energy level seem to complete harmony; this morning proved to be a terrific garden time! I was able to clear most of the garden of the unwanted wild sweet pea weed. (Or at least that is what I call it.) And, I was able to reshape the "trenches" I dug as a border and preventative measure of keeping out the Bermuda grass. Gardens are a form of autobiography. Sydney Eddison, Horticulture magazine. Thursday, March 5, 2009. Daffodils are my official sign that I am behind. However, since I have never truly felt "on-schedule" in my ever-changing gardens — no problem! I have been working in small sections of my gardens and the emerging signs of Spring are everywhere! It is clarifying to be outdoors, digging in the dirt in my proverbial playground! Memphis MidSouth Bagpipes bagpipers Funeral Service Music Piper Tennessee life loss

Faint and familiar sounds of daily life are ringing in the crisp, clear air of an autumnal season. Mutely colored fallen leaves rustle in the wind. Sobbing and grief-soaked murmurs of loss are difficult to ignore. There is a longing for a place of refuge free from loss, sorrow, and forlornness. Then, a familiar, comforting drone begins. It is lamenting and sonorous as it masks city sounds and the bereft. Someone is playing the bagpipes as if they were being played for each and every broken heart. My serv...
