Surrounded by Cowboys: December 2014
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 27, 2014. I think playing soccer was finally the motivating factor in his potty training. We told him that soccer players don't wear diapers. His decision to use the potty didn't come immediately after that, but in the weeks preceding his using the potty he often repeated, "No diapers on the soccer field." Once he decided to use the potty, he got it immediately, having almost no accidents and staying dry at night. Or "Hark the Harold Angels Sing.". My favorite animal is: Elephant.

Surrounded by Cowboys: June 2015
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. Cal at 8 months. Saturday, June 6, 2015. After our first day on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we decided to head to the Biltmore. I didn't need that much of an adventure again :) And even though we were just going to the Biltmore, I loaded up the car with all sorts of clothes and food for all of us.just in case! Aunt Rebecca introduced the boys to the game baby-in-the-air. It quickly became the nightly activity. And we tried for the vacation family picture. too bad Rory wanted nothin...

Surrounded by Cowboys: Father's Day
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2015/07/fathers-day.html
Sunday, July 5, 2015. A belated happy father's day to Atticus! This Father's Day weekend we decided to skip the pool and go hiking. Since we feel in love with the creeks and rivers in western North Carolina, we decided we wanted to start exploring the trails of the Chattahoochee. Our first Chattahoochee adventure was Sope Creek Trail. I tried to get Atticus, Finnan and Jude to all pose at the top of the slide, but the current took Jude away before I could get a picture! Surrounded by Cowboys: November 2014
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 28, 2014. Hiking at Stone Mountain. Last Monday morning, I told the boys we would be going on an adventure. I asked what they would want to do on their adventure. Without hesitation, Finnan said, "Go to the store that has the hot dogs." Costco? Hmm not what I had in mind. His next suggestion was going to Bass Pro Shop. At that point, I suggested hiking at Stone Mountain. Acting goofy on the trail. Rory fishing in the creek. Looking for natural fairy houses. Snug as a bug. Cal at 1 month.

Surrounded by Cowboys: June 2014
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2014. We spent the better part of June in Florida this year, first visiting my parents and then to the beach with the LeBlanc family. I could have written a blog post about every day we were in Florida.but I didn't, and now mainly I just have pictures to share (and disorganized ones at that). World cup quality kick. Playing memory with Maggie and Maddie. Uncle Frank and Rory. Me and baby Rudyard. The cousins (missing Rudyard). Aunt Kat with Finnan, Maddie and Jude. In the pool in Deland.

Surrounded by Cowboys: July 2014
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Tomorrow you will start Kindergarten. You are so talented and so full of life and joy, I know you will do great. Your enthusiasm makes me excited to see you go, but it also is something I will miss having around me as much. You have been waiting for this day for months. When a friend asked you at the beginning of the summer if you were excited for the summer, you said, “I am excited for The Museum School.”. I hope you have a happy year. I hope your love of learning takes off.

Surrounded by Cowboys: March 2015
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. Rory has always loved to draw, but recently his scribbles are turning into recognizable figures. I've seen legitimate people, train tracks, and boats. He enjoys "writing" his letters, though does not actually know any of them. When he does his self-assigned homework, he will "write" letters mimicking his brothers after each scribble, "What's next? Friday, March 27, 2015. Brothers are the best. Nobody makes my babies laugh better than their brothers. Cal is no exception. On the day...

Surrounded by Cowboys: Summer
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2015/08/summer.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. Well, I did not take nearly enough photos this summer and I hardly posted any blogs, but that is because we were busy having a great time. We very quickly got into a daily rhythm of pool time, nap time (for the little two) / audiobook time (for the older two), followed by more play time. There was a lot of loving on Cal. And the older boys helped me chase Cal down a lot this summer, constantly moving him away from the stairs! These guys love their popsicles. Especially Rory.

Surrounded by Cowboys: April 2015
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. A trip to the goat farm. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Cal is 6 months! This adorable baby boy is 6 months old. He is an easy going and happy baby who loves to swing, ride in the stroller and listen to his brothers' crazy voices. He is quick to smile and quite ticklish. He recently started sitting and today was the first time he sat in the grass. It didn't take long before he decided he needed to taste it too. Friday, April 17, 2015. Years ago, after a trip with 6 month old Rory, I ...

Surrounded by Cowboys: January 2015
http://surroundedbycowboys.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. Last night, on my Facebook feed, there was a quote from the comedian Jim Gaffigan, "You want to know what it is like having four kids? Everyone in house loves to spend time with Cal. Jude, in particular will stop anything he is doing to sit and hold him. Jude has determined a specific sound he makes by using his tongue to expel air through his teeth (if that makes any sense) to be one of Cal's favorites. We are still several months away from having said basement, but since the n...
