I did a great deal of Concept Design for the futuristic cities seen in the film. I then took several of my concepts to final by completing the matte paintings for the big screen. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Coast Guard Rescue Vehicles. I've been working on this Coast Guard Rescue painting and vehicle design. Inspired by David Hobbins and his many amazing designs! The sheet shows a bit of the profile shape-exploration I did for the vehicle. I tried to always keep the cockpit down low for better viewing of the water surface below. Also, I wanted to keep the engines high away from the water surface for less disturbance and a safe clearance for rear egress from the cabin.
