Treehouse Photography (my commercial site). Fish out of water. Itamae: My Life in Front of the Cutting Board. Small dramas are everywhere. Shot this using a frankencamera mix – a Sony NEX-7 connected to a Sigma 300mm f/4 macro lens… pointed at some ants during a recent visit to the interior of BC. Obviously, severely edited in Adobe Premier. Many, many thanks to Steve Clements and Seok Hee Jang for their wonderful work on the soundtrack! This is where terms and conditions appear.

Treehouse Photography (my commercial site). Fish out of water. Itamae: My Life in Front of the Cutting Board. Small dramas are everywhere. To say that Japan is a place of contrasts – this means nothing, nothing more a cliché. Shallow commentary, even for a one-time visitor like me. But applied to travel, “a place of contrasts” should serve as polite euphemism for a grandiose WTF? Any trace of craft or art? Technological dream state. Rosa de Mexicali, adios…. This is where terms and conditions appear.

Treehouse Photography (my commercial site). Fish out of water. Itamae: My Life in Front of the Cutting Board. Small dramas are everywhere. Most of these images were shot in May, 2012 during a carnival visit to town. A few of the photos come from earlier visits of the same carnival. Having grown up in a small town, there was something special about having the carnival come to town. Even though the machines are humble and, well, kind of sad and grim, like the whole atmosphere, in a way.

Thoughtful drivel, inane insights. plus photos. Point Hope Shipyards, Victoria, B.C. Three years I lived in Victoria, on two separate occasions. I never considered shipyards interesting back then (maybe I’ve lowered the bar of what piques my interest? Or maybe time and other years have gotten me used to seeing more ships afloat. So that when I see one propped aloft it seems a bit absurd – all that below-the-waterline underbelly, nothing to do. March 14, 2015. Nothing is better than anything. 4 out of 5 d...

From the Treehouse Photography. Photography and Fine Art Printing services in Northwest BC. A (belated) welcome for Tessa. November 1, 2016. So this is Tessa. Earlier this year we had the pleasure of meeting Tessa. After a few warm-up shots in the home crib, we headed out with Jessica and Dillon (aka mom and dad) to explore the fern-filled mossy Connector Trail. Plenty of newborns and family get-togethers this year meant we were kept busy clicking. Contact us to book a shoot in the New Year.

Up on the ladder today I couldn’t help but feel a weird kind of giddy glee, just marvelling at what happens under the right combination of time and rain and sun. But the clafoutis is very good, too!
