We had a birthday party at a dog park with his friends. He got lots of toys. This toy makes a weird noise. I think it is funny how he waits until it is done to pick it up. The sound seemed to freak him out and he wouldn't touch it. Then we got the idea to wrap it up in his towel (part of his bedding and sometimes a toy in its own right.) And then it was down to Oakland for Roby's 60th. We even managed to work in a tree planting in honor of my grandmother for her work at her local library. There was something in our hall closet that she didn't like. We aren't sure what it was, but it must have been bad. We went to a dog show while she was here. They weren't in the show, but we did have a few people ask who our breeder was. Just sayin'. The agility competitions were our favorite part.

Friday, October 12, 2007. In an attempt to keep the hostel clean, they try keep the birds out. There is chicken wire over the opening at the top of the courtyard. But every now and then one gets in. One got in the other day. I'm guessing it came in through a door to the roof which was left open. This MIGHT have been my fault. Ok. Anyway, by means that I really don't think I should be help responsible for - a pigeon got into the building. He was hanging out in the courtyard and seemed ok.

Saturday, September 22, 2007. It was my favorite- stuffed peppers, this cheesy hash brown sort of stuff, roasted tomatoes, and banana fritters for dessert. Yum, Yum. The guys in the dining hall speak almost no English, but such a simple act of kindness went such a long way in making me feel less alone. Oh, wow. That is weird and creepifying.
