A native of Northern California, Mike received his Art training at Sacramento City College. Besides college he is primarly self-taught. His early paintings centered around Homesteads and Victorian homes of the Central Valley of California and Oregon. After retiring from a career as a Graphic Designer Mike began looking for a new medium to explore. That's when he discovered Colored Pencils and the stunning detail artists worlwide were achieving.

The art of Colored Pencil has been growing in popularity in the last ten years. Artists who are members of CPSA, Colored Pencil Society of America, have been setting the standard for exceptional work. There are simular organizations in other countries. I hope to be affilated with CPSA in the near future. My work is primarily done in Prismacolor Pencils on Stonehenge paper. Oil Cans and a Key.
