Dynamics Ax: X what’s new. As you’ve probably already heard the new major release of Dynamics Ax is out and it’s called Microsoft Dynamics Ax! I have been to the Ax7 technical preview conference so I’ve already prepared some content for you and now that the release is official I can share it all. Dynamics Ax comes along with a whole bunch of new goodies and the new compiler being the biggest one. This allowed Microsoft to implement a whole bunch of new keywords in our beloved X language. This is a test".

7 Reasons Why Abstracts Fail. May 15, 2013. I just wrapped up my second go-round as a member of a PASS Summit Abstract Review Team, and I want to share some of the missteps that torpedo an abstract’s chances of being selected. I’ve read enough abstracts to recognize where many of the rejected ones stumble. Also, if you submitted a professional development abstract for the 2013 PASS Summit and it’s rejected, you’ll get our team’s comments in addition to the standard reason for rejection&...Some abstracts,...

Archives for October 2012. The Group In Which We Are The Norm. October 30, 2012. Early this year, I stumbled on to a blog post by author and speaker Simon Sinek. In his post entitled “ Fitting In. 8220;, he writes about his experience at Comic Con — how it made him realize the lengths to which we’ll go to fit in, and why trying hard to fit in isn’t a good strategy. I read the post and right away began to think of how this relates to the SQL Server community. And I talk about show tunes, Jes Borland ( b.

Archives for March 2013. Reporting Services 2012 Bug Causes Export to Excel Failure. March 14, 2013. Finally, FINALLY, I get to tell my boss the report subscriptions broke and it’s the server’s fault. Here’s what happened: I took a report that ran perfectly on a SQL 2008 server and deployed it to Reporting Services on a SQL 2012 server. I tried to export it to Excel and got this delightful little message. I then checked the Reporting Services log files and found this:. Although there aren’t any wor...

I’m a Customer Service fanatic! Wild isn’t it. A company built on selling office headsets. It all started in 1997. Best headsets. Incredible Customer service (no that’s not a typo, we spell Customers with a capitalized C at Headsets.com. And a team with a vision to win. We’ve come a long way in 20 years. And we have a plan for the next 30. Although if we do really well, maybe we’ll conclude our plan in just another 20. It’s easy really isn’t it! 🙂 Don’t I look good in that beautiful Leitner Headset.

Sunday, July 19, 2009. ITS THAT TIME AGAIN! Thursday, July 16, 2009. Hey wow I never finished that past blog. Eh. The real reason I'm here is to reflect upon the highlight of last weekend in Sacramento. One event really stood out me and is the reason I'm still awake at this hour. I don't know how I got to be thinking about it but I can still see it happening in my head. The day was incredibly long.lots of run thrus, tons of naps, and plenty of mini-vitamin water to go around. Blogged from my iPhone.

This leads me to last week. In order to have some data, I decided to run an informal backup survey targeted at the SQL community. The results floored me: 344 of you decided to take my short survey. This really helps me understand some of the trends out there and now I want to share those results with you. Note, my data warehousing...

Mike Falconer | Managing, Marketing, and the Veterinary Practice
Managing, Marketing, and the Veterinary Practice. Movie Review: The Founder. February 10, 2018. The movie starts by following Ray Croc as an ice cream mixer sales man to bad drive in restaurants. While it is obvious that he is an archetypal slimy sales man, the patter he uses is surprisingly modern and essentially comes down to build it and they will come. One hour and 18 minutes marks the real revelation of the McDonald’s story. That the McDonald’s franchise is not in the burger business at all, but...
