Mike Fryer, paintings. I paint landscapes and abstracts using acrylics or oil, usually onto canvas although occasionally onto boards. Lately I have been painting on canvases 40–45 mm deep so that the work has a sculptural element. Most of my recent paintings, whether landscape or abstract, are square – I find the symmetry works well with the overall colour and composition. ’. Sports and Figurative Paintings. Monday, October 10, 2016. Wakehurst Place is the outpost of Kew Gardens set in West Sussex. We had a trip down and a nice walk around the gardens. Tuesday, October 04, 2016. A few days after we got back from Symi we had a trip up to the Wirral for a friends daughters wedding. Not wanting to rush of after work I took the day of and we pottered our way across the country. We stopped at Castletown house near Moreton-in-the-Marsh. The light in the rooms was fantastic. And there were some really odd features.

Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Camera Testing High ISO test. After doing the resolution test, the next bit of testing I wanted to see is how the cameras responds to cranking up the ISO. The base ISO of the Sony is 100 ISO with the Nikon having a base of 200 ISO. All yesterdays test were shot at the base ISO. I don't use high ISO much but when I do I really need them. Years ago I had a Nikon D70 converted to be sensitive to Infra Red light. I bought a conversion kit from Lifepixel. We always try and have a day up in London in the week before Christmas. Mainly to visit Borough Market and to see the lights. This year we managed to get up the day after the winter solstice. Saturday, January 30, 2016. In about 1990 I got a call from a PR man I had known for some time with the offer of a job that I may be interested in. The brief was to photograph some vehicles at the Eurotunnel visitors centre at Folkestone. For those who are too young to remember, this was a tourist attraction set up across the M20 from where the tunnel terminal is now.
