It's hard to believe that we seem to just stumble across this kind of awe-inspiring scenery on a daily basis. We got to see some incredible sights on the drive to the lodge (that we planned to book for the evening), including Mirror Lake below.

We also visited ancient Kauri forests, including Te Matua Ngahere. Maori for “Father of the Forest,” a massive Kauri tree with a girth of over 52 feet and estimated to be 4000 years old! We continued down the west coast, where one of my favorite sights would have to be the Pancake Rocks. Camped next to pristine streams. And the world-famous Milford Sound.
